Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my latest project with you today! Did you notice I said “project” and not “scrapbook page”?! Yep, something different for me but I really love how it came out and I think the recipient did too!
This is a gift for my youngest’s teacher who left us at the end of term one to have her first baby.
I’ve started with the gorgeous Hot Air Balloon cut file available in this month’s release and sized that to fit into a 5″ x 7″ frame I had on hand. I’ve used my Silhouette software to “design” my creation and I have screen recorded so you can see just how I did that on the video that I will link further down.
This project came together pretty quickly once I had designed and cut the pieces. I knew our teacher was having a baby girl so I just HAD to go all girly and pink! I’ve used this piece of Maggie Holmes paper from my scraps stash as my background, I just LOVE it!
To co-ordinate with the background I have pulled out my Maggie Holmes Open Book 6×6 paper pad – well the few shreds of left overs 😉 – to back that beautiful hot air balloon. The heart in the middle has been backed with a Stampin’ Up 6×6 paper that I was lucky enough to be given quiet a while ago.
Some splatters on my backing paper and then I build my title. I googled “hot air balloon quotes” and found this one and thought it was just perfect for a baby girl so ran with that. I have used some tiny pink thickers for this.
Once the splatters were dry I mounted my hot air balloon on some foam and then adhered the clouds, the balloon and the title. Once that was all placed in a way I was happy with it in the frame (and that did take a little bit!!) I popped the back onto the frame and voila. A very pretty baby gift! You can see my whole process in my video below!
I really love how this came together and that beautiful cut file did all the work for me and I didn’t have to think too much after I got it cut! And I have another idea for this gorgeous balloon for a future project so I can’t wait to get a start on that too!
I hope you have enjoyed my project today and make sure you head back to the blog for my beautiful DT inspiration!
