Hello CTY Friends!!
I’m up on the blog today and feeling like one very lucky lady! I just spent the weekend at a beautiful retreat with our awesome boss lady, Gwen! It was great to catch up and chat and brainstorm brilliant future plans for CUT to YOU! So much fun stuff coming up!I each of the frames and flowers using patterned paper and washi tape.
My share on the blog today is featuring one of the new May Cut Files from CTY. This one is called the Frames Background and I have cut it out using black card stock.
When I was cutting this File, I paid close attention to the size of the main frame, so that I could be sure it would fit a 4×6 photo, as I already had my photo printed.
I backed each of the frames and flowers using patterned paper and washi tape, leaving some spots open. I used a paper range that had the look of tiles, as I liked how this looked in the squares. I then added foam tape all over the back of the filled Cut File to pop it up off the background.
In order to increase the impact of the Cut File against the busy mixed media background, I have gone around the frames using a white gel pen, and smudged some white gesso around the edges of the frames and flowers.
I am super happy with how this page turned out, and feel like it a great example of my girly grunge style. Cutting the File out in black card stock was a great jumping off point for this.
Thanks for stopping by, I can’t wait to be back with you soon to share some of the layouts I made at retreat!
