Hello Hello Everyone! Its Sara, back with my second layout for the month of July! I hope you are all nice and cool as a cucumber while you read this! I’m in the US and we are having the craziest heatwave!
I’m sharing a 12X12 scrapbook layout today along with some fun tips on how you can customize your cut files to make them uniquely yours. I chose to use the brand new Book Stack Background Cut File.
I started by backing my cut file. I chose to use Pink Paislee’s Indigo and Ivy range. I love to use 6X6 paper pads to back my files. I flipped over each patterned paper and flipped the cut file. Then I used a pen (I know, you could totally use a pencil if you want to) to trace and cut each section of the books.
I chose contrasting colors to really make the cut file details pop..but I’m not done yet!
Next, I broke out a bottle of Glossy Accents. This is used a lot in scrapbooking as a wet glue BUT if you cover areas of a cut file with it, you get a lovely glossy sheen to bring your attention to parts of your cut file.
The last finishing touch I added was some hand stitching. Hand stitching the entire outline of a cut file always looks lovely but have you ever just chosen a section or element to stitch? I chose to stitch just the book pages for my layout. Love the added texture it created.
I embellished the rest of my layout minimally so that the cut file, my photo, and journaling were the star of the show! Be sure to take a peek at all the cut files in the Cut to You shop. How will you customize a cut file and make it yours?
Have A Lovely Day!
