Family is for Always | Tamara Buckler

Hello CTY Friends,

I’m back on the blog again today to share a layout with you featuring another of the amazing August Cut Files. For this layout, I have used the gorgeous Doodle Frames background, which I cut from white cardstock.

This Cut File is super sweet and whimsical, and so I wanted to use a range of papers that had a similar vibe. I pulled out the Willow Lane collection from Crate Paper, and when I was flicking through the papers, I came across this sheet of patterned paper that looked like wallpaper – total light bulb moment!! I could make the Cut File look like a photo wall!!

At this point I decided to colour my Cut File black, and I did this using a Posca paint pen. This was super easy, my 10yo daughter even jumped in and coloured some in for me!

I then set about adding photos into each of the frames. With the goal of creating a photo wall, I was able to bring together a random collection of photos that I love but that aren’t necessarily from the same event or of the same person. They are all favourite photos of my family and extended family, so it was really nice to pull this story together.

I added some wood grain paper to give the effect of frame edges or photo matting around some of the frames. I left one of the frames as space for a title, and added a big chipboard word from the Willow Lane collection which fit perfectly. I then popped all of the frames up on fun foam to emphasise the look of the frames hanging on the wall.

Once I had adhered all of these to my page, I added some additional chipboard to embellish each of the frames, and added a cute little cuckoo clock, because WALL! I then felt the frames looked a little heavy, so went back in with a white gel pen and added a doodley line around some parts of the frames. I love how this looks!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed checking out my page. Make sure you jump over to the shop and grab yourself some amazing CUT to YOU Cut Files!

Big Loves,

Tam xo
