You AND Me | Marie Hirst

Hi CUT to YOU creatives! It’s my turn on the blog today and I’ve decided to use the BEAUTIFUL Ampersand cutfile for my layout. You can find it here in the CUT to YOU shop.

There’s a video on my YouTube channel if you’d like to see how it all came together. You can find it here: You and Me

I started by making the cutfile approximately 10 inches tall as I wanted it to be a big focal point of the layout. I decided to pair it with the ‘Just a Little Lovely’ collection from Pinkfresh Studio. I wanted to keep the layout quite light and delicate so I backed the cutfile with vellum.

I wanted to scrap some photos of myself and my husband as I very rarely do! I printed them on my Selphy Printer so that they looked like photo booth photos. I used two strips and overlapped them. I put the photos on cheesecloth to give a softer look and propped them up on dimensional foam.

I embellished with the acetate flowers from the same collection placed around different parts of the cutfile. I also wound up some white thread to add some more softer details. I also added some light-green sequins from Spiegelmom Scraps to add some shimmery details.

I also added a few pieces of die cut ephemera to add some variety.

I added the words ‘You’ and ‘Me’ to complete the title using the Ampersand Cutfile as part of the title. I hope that I have inspired you to try using a cutfile in a new way!

Until next time,

Marie x
