Make Waves | Marie Hirst

Hi there creatives! Marie here back on the blog with another layout for CUT to YOU. As you may have noticed, I am REALLY enjoying playing with mixed media at the moment and this layout is no exception!

For this one, I started by making myself another stencil using the Make Waves Title Cutfile from the shop. I chose the part of the cutfile where the wavy lines were separate, made it approximately 6 inches wide and cut it from a sheet of mylar (plastic stencil material).

After spreading gesso over a piece of white cardstock, I then used the stencil with some white modelling paste to create the waves pattern on the page.

Then I used a Lindy’s Stamp Gang Magical Shaker in Guten Tag Teal to add some colour to the page over all of the waves and then watered some more down to add some splatters.

Next I matted a photograph of my son, Elliot, onto some beachy-themed papers from Pink Paislee and a few other scraps from my stash. I backed the title part of the cutfile and layered that over the bottom part of the photograph.

I embellished the page with some enamel dots, some sequins, an acetate palm tree and some cardstock stickers from Pink Paislee.

I also added some perspective shapes and words from Bramble Fox for extra details.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Remember to check out the shop especially the new Christmas releases – I can’t wait to get creating with them!

Here’s the process video if you’d like to see how it came together!

Until next time,

Happy scrapping!
