Hey there scrappy friends,
I’m up on the blog today to share another layout with you using the Arrows Cut File from October’s release.
I cut this one out in black card stock just for something different, and then played with lots of bright colours and summery elements.
I backed the file using a single piece of bright blue patterned paper, cutting around the outside of the Cut File with scissors and a blade. I like that’s this gave continuity in the pattern on the paper.
For a bit more fun and whimsy, I drew sketchy lines around the Cut File with a white gel pen. I then popped each arrow up on double sided tape before adhering to the background.
Where the photo overlapped the Cut File, I actually cut of some of the arrow heads to continue the Cut File to the other side of the photo. You can’t actually see that too much now, but it gave an anchor point for my embellishment cluster.
To balance the page, I created another cluster to the top left of the layout, again anchoring it to the Cut File. This worked out really well, allowing me to have a lot going on embellishment wise without covering too much of the File or overpowering it.
I’m super happy with how this page turned out. I think at first glance this file might look quite masculine, and I’m sure it would be right at home in the Boyz Zone of the shop, but I absolutely think it can be flipped to be fun and a bit funky like I’ve done here.
Make sure you head over to the shop for the November releases, lots of beautiful florals! There are also a heap of new Christmas Files over there too!! If you’re not already pop over to the website and sign up for the newsletter so you don’t miss out.
See you all next time!
Big Loves, Tam x
