Happy New Year Everyone! I’m so happy to be back for another term with CUT to YOU to work with more of the awesomeness that is cut files!
For this layout I used two CUT to YOU cut files and used my Cricut software to weld them together to make one single cut file. (If you’d like more information about how I did this, just let me know!). Both of these cut files are now available in the shop or click directly on these links to find them: Family is Forever and Floral Edge.
After manipulating the file and cutting it from white cardstock, I then backed it using a variety of pink-toned Christmas papers from my stash. I placed lots of dimensional foam on the back of the cut file too so that it would stand proud of the page just a little (and allow me to tuck other bits in behind!)
I backed all of the letters but only some of the flowers and leaves – I like the effect of having some of them left as they are. I used a sheet of grey snow-effect paper as my background.
I then added some die-cut foliage in various places using the same papers. I also added a few pink enamel dots and some silver thread for a little bit of sparkle.
I also added some more detail by running the layout through my sewing machine and doing some straight and zigzag stitching around the edge.
The photograph, which is of my little family on Christmas Day, was matted on the same papers – I do like a bit of coordination!
If you’d like to watch how it all came together, there’s a process video on my channel here:
Thanks so much for stopping by and dont forget to check out some of the other awesome new releases in the shop!
