The circles made me think of this cute photograph of my son when we were on holiday and hired a picnic boat for the day and travelled up and down the Norfolk Broads. I have used the Pink Paislee ‘Truly Grateful’ collection (along with a few other bits from my stash). I chose a dark coloured background (not something I usually do) and I love how it turned out!
The first thing I did was cut the cut file on my Cricut from white cardstock. I then stuck it straight to the cardstock. I decided not to back my cut file as I felt it stood out so well on the dark background so well! For a little more interest, I watered down some white acrylic paint and splattered it all over the page. I then matted my photo on white and then on some of the lovely bird paper, added some dimensional foam and stuck it down.
I then began embellishing. I mainly used ephemera from the ‘Truly Grateful’ collection for this and also some fussy-cut foliage from one of the 12×12 sheets in the collection.
The title ‘Memories’ was from my stash (PinkFresh Studio I think) which matched the other greens I had used perfectly.
I tucked lots of different pieces of ephemera in different places around the photo and also added some puffy phrases and stickers to add further interest. Some were glued down and some were placed on foam pads to add a bit of depth.
You’ll find a process video on my channel if you’d like to watch how it all came together!
Until next time, keep on creating!
