Hi everyone! It’s Kirei back for my second share this month and I decided to see how I could use one of the CUT to YOU cut files to make something other than a layout. Now, I love a mini album and decided that the Circletastic cut file would be perfect to make pages from!…. and yes I am still going with some Christmas photos!
I firstly needed to release the compound path for the four circles so that I could cut more than just four out, this meant each circle could then be regrouped as an individual shape. I didn’t resize them as I could already fit nine onto one sheet of card which was perfect for what I needed as I knew I wanted to mix in some patterned paper pages too.
I backed each of the cut file circles with patterned paper. I then cut a further five circles out from just patterned paper and stitched around them with gold thread to add some texture. I found out that sewing in a circle is not the easiest, so they are a little wonky!
I also made a circle vellum shaker pocket to include in the mini album, to do this I just stitched around the two vellum circles and filled it with pretty matching sequins.
I used tiny portrait photos that are 1 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ and were cut on my Canon Selphy ‘four up with borders’. I backed them all with patterned papers.
To finish my mini album off I added the photos and lots of matching embellishments to each of the pages.
I used two of the cut file pages to feature on the front and back, and added a title to the front and short quote to the back.
I hope this has given you some inspiration on different ways to use a cut file, do pop on over to see the full selection at the CUT to YOU shop. And if you haven’t already do join us over on the CUT to YOU Facebook page! Thanks for stopping by… I’ll see you next month!
