Hi everyone! It’s Kirei here with a layout using one of the older cut files called ‘Squiggle’ which is available here in the CTY shop. I love the randomness of this design and decided to cut it into two pieces to create a diagonal effect across the layout. I’m going for a ‘white on white’ effect to give the layout a subtle background but by still adding texture. Have a look at Gwen’s blog post on ’30 Ways to use Cut Files on your Scrapbook Layouts’ as ‘white on white’ features at #6, and if you are looking for new idea’s there are loads more!
I stuck the cut file down directly to the white cardstock but only used glue in some areas as I didn’t want it to be totally flat.
I snipped off one of the squiggles and added it on it’s own to fill the gap I had.
I layered my photo onto a few pieces of patterned papers from Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘More than Words’ and ‘Love Always’ (not that I’m hoarding them at all!) and lightly distressed the edges. Then I added it to the layout using foam pads to give dimension.
I then used some coordinating ephemera, enamel hearts, wood veneers, vellum ephemera and puffy stickers to embellish around the photo. I clustered them together by colour… yellow and pink.
There are lot’s more fab cut file designs in the CUT to YOU shop along with some new June releases which are equally great… it’s hard to decide which one to use next! If you don’t already subscribe then pop over here and sign up as you get a free cut file each month!
