Splish Splash | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hi Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout. Summer is already here in Hungary, school holiday is on. Finally! We’ve been waiting for it sooo long! However I’ve chosen an older photo of my daughter who loved when her father played with her in the Lake Balaton, lifting up and letting her down into the water with a big splash. Among the new cut files of the July Release there is a great cut file for this theme: the Splish Splash cut file.

This layout started as a disaster… I wanted to cut the cut file from the Sea to Sky paper of the Art Walk collection by Heidi Swapp. But something went wrong, the blade lost direction at a halfway point and started cutting on the wrong place so I had to stop cutting. There I was with a half-cut design, had no other paper of that specific one… I still wanted to use that paper because it matches my photos perfectly so I got out my Prima watercolours and started to make my own background.

When I was ready I cut my 2 photos into the two biggest water drops. Some of the water drops cut out of the patterned paper were still useable, I adhered them on the background, and I let the cut file drops lifting above them, giving the feeling of the splashing water.

I backed the letters and the remaining cut files from the rest of the patterned paper, so in the end I could use it even so. I added some phrase stickers and puffy heart stickers and was ready. I really love the end result. What do you think? Have you ever had a similar experience?

Come and play with us this month! July is the birthday month of CUT to YOU and we have two amazing challenges for you. The second challenge is the Two-riffic challenge – use 2 photos/2 cut files/the number 2 on your layout or create a double page to join this challenge at the CUT to YOU Facebook group.

Have a nice day and time for scrapping! 🙂
