Hello creative friends! I’m delighted to be sharing my second project for the month with you today. This time I wanted to show you how you can get two layouts from one cut file by utilising both the cut file and the negative piece. And for this I knew I wanted to use one of the fabulous KIT to YOU products.
If you’re not already familiar with the KIT to YOU products, you can read all about them here.
I used the String Art Circle Cut File + Kit to create this first layout really quickly and easily by following the instructions laid out in the kit PDF. I used supplies from my own stash, and of course added a little of my own personal touch to complete the page.
Then I used the negative from the String Art Circle Cut File to create this gorgeous layout. Aside from providing me with a really impactful background to begin with, by using the negative (or offcuts) I also minimised wastage of cardstock.
To help the pieces really pop off the pretty floral background paper, I added some light pink hand stitching around each piece. The larger pieces I adhered to the background with some adhesive foam, the smaller pieces were glued down with wet adhesive.
I added some simple patterned paper layers behind my photo. My journalling was typed onto a 3×4 card and layered on top of another patterned 3×4 card. I added some interest to my title by choosing to use two complimentary fonts.
I created a small cluster of layered elements on the top right hand side of my page, and on the left hand side of my photo. And to finish off, I scattered around some really pretty translucent enamel dots in complimentary colours.
I am SO pleased with how this layout turned out. And I loved being able to get more “bang for my buck” by creating two layouts from just one cut file.
