Hi CUT to YOU fans! It’s Kirei here with my second layout for the month using a fab background cut file called Herringbone which you can find here in the CUT to YOU shop.
Now when I cut this design I didn’t plan to use it as a diamond background, it just happened by accident and when I saw it I loved how it looked so it went from there!
I backed each herringbone row with a different patterned paper from the Pink Paislee ‘5th & Monaco’ collection. For my background I trimmed some white cardstock to 11″ x 11″, distressed the edges and mounted it onto a bright coloured patterned paper frame. Then I stuck down my backed cut file using foam tape to add dimension.
I added my photo which had been mounted onto some coordinating patterned paper and layered it up with some tags and a cut apart sentiment from one of the patterned papers. I added gold thread to both of the tags and then wrote my journaling on to the back of one of the tags.
I added embellishments around the photo using matching word stickers, ephemera and puffy stickers.
Then I just needed to break up the white edges of the cut file as they didn’t pop enough so used a black scalloped edge sticker on each side of the cut file along with more floral ephemera, word stickers and puffy stickers.
I finished off with a black glossy title ‘Love You’ as it was perfect for my photo of my husband and I on a day out for my birthday!
Thank you so much for stopping by! Pop on over to the CUT to YOU shop to see more of the fab cut files along with the new August releases! Don’t forget that you get a free cut file every month if you sign up to the newsletter and you can do that here.
