Hi CUT to YOU fans, I can’t believe that today I am sat here with the heating on yet just over three weeks ago we were walking on a beach in Norfolk in flip flops and short sleeves…. as I live in the UK and are now into autumn it’s no surprise really!
Anyway I’m here with a layout using one of the older cut files that I have had cut just waiting to use… it’s called ‘Scallop Banners’ and can be found here in the shop. I thought they would be perfect with the lovely new Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘Daydream’ collection so painted twelve of them in different shimmery paints to match the collection.
I created my background with a patterned paper that I stuck down to another piece of coordinating patterned paper that I had gutted to make a frame. I distressed the edges and made a few tears on each side that I then folded back, this just creates some added texture which I like. I then stitched the painted cut files to the patterned background paper with gold thread.
As I do like to create dimension on my layouts I curled up the edges of each scalloped banner and I really like how this looks!
I added a photo that I had mounted onto three different patterned papers, again distressing the edges….
I added three embellishment clusters to the left and top right of my photo, and the third below my title.
To finish off I added a title and my journaling just beneath the photo.
