Hello Everyone! Sara with you today to share a super fun fall school layout! This month’s release at Cut To You features lots of school designs just perfect for documenting school days. I chose the School Books cut file for this week’s project!
I kept my page design very simple. I clustered my photo and my cut file into the middle to create a center-focused design. I used foam tape to pop up part of the cut file and also my photo to give them extra dimension. I used my favorite Thicker design to add the year and the grade my son was in in this photo.
I love to add little extra details to my cut files…for this one, I added Glossy Accents to the letters for a bit of shine.
A good trick for backing a cut file is to use 6X6 papers. These patterns are smaller in size and they are perfect for backing small areas with fun patterns. I chose fall papers and embellishments because they coordinated with the photo so well. And fall designs are a particular favorite of mine. I squeeze as many fall layouts as I can between September to November. And I have oodles of school photos here that still need scrapped.
I created clusters using die cuts, brads, and enamel dots to help the eye move around my page. And those adorable fall critters don’t hurt either. 🙂 I havent put a brad on a layout in at least a decade, so that was a fun addition to the page.
