Hello beautiful friends! I am happy to be sharing my first design team project for November with you today.
I have to admit that I just love working with the KIT to YOU cut files and kits. They are such a fun and easy way to flex your crafty mojo to create quick and easy layouts. But today I wanted to share with you a different way to use your KIT to YOU cut file.
I loved the Segmented Circle Cut File and KIT and thought it would be perfect for my boy themed layout. I knew that I wanted to include some repeated circle elements so I cut four copies from black cardstock sized at around 4.5 inches.
I used a variety of coordinating patterned papers to fill the segments in each of the Segmented Circle Cut File sections. I chose a mixed-media patterned paper for my background and added a little more mixed media to really build that visual interest.
I adhered my four circles down in the middle of the page and then got stuck into creating some interesting layers behind my photo. For added interest I created my title using four different alphas or words and adhered those down at the base of my photo.
I added my journalling directly underneath in strips that I typed up on my typewriter.
I finished off my layout by created a couple of clusters of layered embellishments on either side of my photo. And added some arrows pointing towards each of the four corners of my photo + embellishment clusters to really help draw the eye into the middle of the page. And of course, I had to add my scattering of Nuvo drops for that finishing touch.
If you’re interested in seeing how this came together in more detail, I’d love for you to check out my process video below and let me know what you think!
