Hello again lovelies,
I’m back on the blog today to share a super cute and fun monochromatic layout featuring the Rainbow Love Cut File. Now I know quite a few of the other DT girls have used this file so I challenged myself to do something a little different.
I started by cutting the cut file quite small, and I actually cut it out of a really pale blue cardstock. As I was flicking through my patterned papers I found a piece that had a gorgeous purple ombré and I decided that using this single piece of paper to back my file would be my point of difference. Only problem was that now it didn’t match my already cut file! Rather than recut it, I used a white Posca pen to recolour the Cut File, and voila it was white!
I glued each element of the Cut File to the ombré paper just as it was designed, being careful to place it to get the effect of the colour gradient, and then cut each piece out using my scissors and a blade.
I then backed the cut file with foam, and placed it on to another piece of patterned paper. This paper had a newspaper print effect, and the contrast between this and the purple cut file really make it pop. I then used the remaining ombré paper to make a border for my page.
To pull the page together, I hunted through my stash for coordinating purple elements and then I lightly embellished around my photo and title which I had overlaid on the Cut File.
I added some black and white splatters around the page, and a little embellishment cluster up the top for balance, and just like that my page was done. I love how simple yet impactful this page is… I really think this is the power of Cut Files… all the hard work is already done and we just have to make it pretty!
Take care all my lovely peeps!! Big Loves, Tam xo
