Hello Everyone, and Happy New Year! 🙂 It’s Piroska here today on the CUT to YOU blog and I am so happy to continue at CUT to YOU over this new term! For this year’s first share I made a retrospective double pages layout. I rarely do double pages, but this time I had so many photos, that it didn’t fit on one page.
2020 wasn’t an easy year, we had to face many unusual things. However when I was looking through our photos of the year, I realised we had many precious memories. Having a kid means there are always things you experience for the first time: kid learning to skate/rolling skate, trying SUP, first cycle-tour together, losing of the first tooth, playing more difficult games, started reading books. But the pandemic has given us, adults some opportunities to try out new things too: home office as a teacher, home schooling, baking “kifli”, making a garden on our never-used balcony, wearing a mask (not the best experience though), or keeping touch with family and friends via video chat.
So here is my layout for this collection of memories:
First I cut the For the Record cut file from white cardstock. I backed it from the Totally Splendid patterned paper from the Days of Splendor collection by Pinkfresh Studio. As I cut it large and had too many photos to include, I decided to glue it on a second page, on the darker background of the Simply Magical paper.
For my photos I used an almost white background paper, the Oh So Delightful paper. It had the same grids as the previous one what helped me to place my several photos and write my journalling.
When I placed my photos, I started to decorate my two pages. I used similar elements or similar colours to create a connection between the two pages.
I added some cut outs or fussy cut some elements from the patterned papers of the days of Splendor collection, and also some chipboard flairs. I also used some foam adhesives to create dimensions.
I hope, I could inspire you to make a similar layout. This For the Record cut file is perfect for all kinds of memories, so grab it and some other ones from the shop 😉
