Hello lovely Cut to You peeps!
I’m back on the blog today to share with you this bright and bold page featuring the Sun Seeker cut file. This file is amazing and has given such impact to this page!
I started this page by cutting the file in black because I felt like this would give the best definition to the title and the flower. I then dug into my stash to find some yellow paper that would work for my petals… only to find I didn’t have any! So I pulled out some white cardstock and some mixed media supplies and got to work. I used texture paste and a dry brush to create the feel of the petals and then mixed various paints and inks to create the yellow I was after.
The texture paste actually made it quite difficult to get the file to adhere to the cardstock, but I persevered and got there in the end! Once I had each of the petals back, I came in with a small brush and a deeper yellow/orange ink and added some shading that radiated out from the centre of the flower. I also some white in places for a few highlights.
I used some brown patterned paper for the centre of the flower and used a stencil and some black ink to create texture. I then backed the title with some white patterned paper, and then popped everything up with foam tape.
I love how this title cut file works with this photo. The pic is of my daughter and our sweet friend, we were away camping and it was a beautiful sunny morning. I feel like like this file really captures that feeling.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure you pop over to the shop and check out the latest release Cut Files .
Until next time, Big Loves! Tam xo 😘
