Hello Scrappy Friends, I’m back again on the blog today to share my latest layout for Cut to You. This page gives me country chic, log cabin vibes, which is perfect for where I am right now because its is rainy and miserable here!
I have used Floral Note Card Cut File as the jumping off point for this page. I loved the florals in this file so much, that I duplicated them so that I could have them at the top and bottom of my page! This gave me a really natural space to cluster and tuck my photos, and I feel like the Cut File and my photos work seamlessly together because of this.
You could do this simply by cutting this file out twice (or ordering 2 Custom Cuts), but I let the Silhouette software do the hard work for me. I opened the file in the software, duplicated it, flipped and melded the two files together. This way it all cut as one piece!
I decided to only back the petals of the flowers, as I thought the open leaves gave an interesting effect against the wood grain paper. I used a paper from PinkFresh Studios that had a lovely blue gradient, and have backed each of the flowers with a different shade of blue.
I added in some layers in and around my photos for added interest and dimension. I nestled my title and a few small embellishments around the bottom right of my photo, overlapping onto the florals, but not convering them up. I also added a very small cluster at the top right to balance this off and to establish a cohesive sight line down the page.
Big Loves, Tam xo
