Hello lovely CTY friends,
I’m up on the blog today sharing my latest layout. This time I’m using the Why Hello There Cut File, which is a new one for me.
I have been really inspired by the layouts coming out lately with fringing within the Cut File, like this one here from DT member Belinda. But instead of fringing, I wanted to play with the idea of patchwork.
To do this, I manipulated the Cut File in Silhouette Studio and removed the internal cut lines. This cut the file as one whole piece, which I was then able to lay my little squares of paper onto to make the patchwork look I was going for.
I also cut the file as designed by Gwen and laid this over the top of my patchwork background. I felt the file was getting a little lost against all the busy little squares, so I proceeded to outline the title using a black fine liner.
I then popped the whole file up on foam tape, and chose a black background for extra contrast. I tucked my photo and layers behind the file, and centred these on the page.
I added additional squares of paper along the top and bottom of the page, adding some black stitching, to again accentuate the patch work feel.
I’m so happy with how fun and playful this page ended up being. I’m sure this Title file is meant for babies or something cute 😂 but I love how it worked with my funny selfie!!
Big Loves, Tam xo
