Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. Do you like reading? I do. I even have to be careful because if I start to read, I won’t do anything else! ;-P One of my biggest joys is that my 8 years old daughter also loves reading. I still read her bed-time stories, but during the day she also reads some other books on her own. Some of them still have lots of photos, others only alphabets… there is so much to choose from, right? And fortunately she likes it, and enjoys this activity. So I snapped a photo of her, totally in her book, reading on the balcony.
When I saw the September CSI challenges, especially Case File No. 367, I knew I wanted to scrap this memory. I chose a cut file that is not especially for reading, the One Big Adventure cut file from the August Release, but reading is like an adventure, right? We can travel to places, we would never go to, doing things we never would in real life, it is like living thousand lifes.
First I cut the One Big Adventure cut file from white cardstock. I wanted to use a design paper of Alexandra Renke, so I fussy cut the book stacks and the reading girl from that design paper.
Then I chose some patterned papers for the background. The One Big Adventure cut file looked great unbacked, so I only backed the word adventure. I teared the patterned papers and glued them on a white cardstock, then I added foam adhesive to the cut file and glued it on the patterned papers.
Then I added my photo and some fussy cut book stacks to embellish my layout. I added my journalling and was ready. Sometimes less is more – I like this simple layout – I hope you’ll like it too!
