Hey and hello CUT to YOU friends, Melinda here with you today sharing this super fun scrapbook layout!!
One cut file is VERY obvious and it’s the “Chasing Rainbows” cut file which features front and centre on this page!
However, I actually used bits from 2 other cut files as well!! Let’s start with those clouds in the background which came from the “Summer Builder” cut file set…
Which brings us to the final cut file and that GIANT rainbow in the background!! That came from the “Sunshine Rainbows” cut file.
I pulled out the Jen Hadfield “Reaching Out” collection for this and paired some Distress Oxide ink colours to go with it. Tattered Rose/Fossilized Amber/Bundled Sage/Faded Jeans for the rainbow. And Stormy Sky/Pumice Stone/Hickory Smoke for the clouds.
I used blending brushes to create my background after I cut paper stencils – with some not so great cardstock in my stash – with my cut files.
The “Chasing Rainbows” cut file was cut on white cardstock and backed using the “Reaching Out” 6×8 paper pad. I used these papers to “match” my distress oxide ink colours for the rainbow in the cut file and then the beautiful floral design for the words.
A few final touches, including some rainbow stitching and sequins and my page was done!!
I just love how this came together in the end and if you’d like to see my process hit that play button below!! I do hope that you enjoy!
As I finish up this post I wanted to make sure that you knew that there are now cut file bundles available in the store!! So super fun and a great way to “stock up” if you have something you love to work with!! Like in this “Rainbow Bundle“, this has to be my fave, of course!!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today and that perhaps you’ve taken away some fun and different ideas on ways to use cut files other than simply backing them!!
Until next time, happy scrapping!!
