Lake Life | Jamie Striplin

Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to share this new layout with you today! Last October, I got to stay at a beautiful lake house with my scrappy squad and craft all weekend long. It was a real dream and I can’t wait to go back and do it again!

To start this project off, I made a large chevron design with some skinny paper strips on a kraft background. I wanted to add some layers and some florals to give a more feminine touch to some of the more masculine lake themed papers I chose. As soon as I saw the Frames cut file, I knew it would be perfect! I backed the frames with the same woodgrain paper so that it wouldn’t be too busy, but it would still give it some depth. I wanted the florals to have some variety – so some are backed and some are not. I really love how this turned out – the crisp white of the cut file against the darker background and the softness that the florals added.Once I placed my photo, I added in some floral ephemera and finished the layout with a simple title and some white and navy splatter.

Thanks for looking! Make sure to head over to the CUT to You shop and check out all of the frames cut files! They are so great for adding layers and dimension to your projects!

XO, Jamie
