Sweet Treats|Sara

Hello Everyone! Sara with you today to share my newest layout for Cut To You. My project today features the Sweets cut file.

I recently discovered a scrapbook album from 2015 that I didn’t finish! I think I went to a crop and added the photos into the page protector to work on, never got to these photos, and then forgot about them. Have you ever done that?

One of the photos was this one of my son and nephews eyeing up the candy at the farmer’s market. I love how big their eyes are. I paired my photo with the Sweets cut file which i thought worked perfectly.

I backed the title piece with two different solid patterns from the collection I used. Then I backed all the candy pieces with a rainbow of color. I cut extra candy pieces so that I had a nice assortment of candy in different colors and sizes to create my clusters with.

Once I had the candy backed with paper, I filled in the “candy” parts of the cut file with Glossy Accents. This gave my candy the shiny look of candy as well as some candy texture and dimension. I always try to add those two things, texture and dimension to my cut files. This keeps them from looking flat on a page and gives them more interest.

I paired each candy cluster with a few embellishments , keeping the embellishments simple so they didnt overwhelm the candy. For each cluster, I added foam tape to the candy piece I want ed to be the focus and then tucked in other embellishments around it.

I chose a vertical design for my layout, keeping everything in a column down the center of my page.

I’d love to know what you think of my layout today! Leave a comment down below if you enjoyed it! And be sure to head over to the SHOP and grab this fun cut file!

Have A Lovely Day!
