“Danger Zone” | Airport Background | Nicole Bingaman

Hello Cut To You friends! Today I am sharing a fun layout featuring the Airport Background digital cut file from the Cut To You Shop. I think at first glance this file leans towards travel and airport themed photos and events. For me, as soon as I saw it I was instantly thinking of ways I could use it to document my kids introduction to the movie Top Gun.

The weekend Top Gun Maverick opened in theaters, we had our kids watch the original movie first. My favorite in the opening scene with the Danger Zone song…and since I couldn’t get the song out of my head I went ahead and decided to use it as my title. It was also fitting as this was my kids “highway” into the movies.

I kept the Airport Background file as is, and just sized it to fill a 12×12 background paper. From then I went stash diving for some muted red, white and blue papers to back all the airplanes.

I was so happy to finally find a use for some really old and very travel specific items in my stash. I mainly focused on airplanes and my color palette knowing that a lot of it would be hidden from being tucked behind my photos.

My photos are all different sizes and I just guessed when I cropped them knowing that I wanted some of the airplanes to still be visible behind the photo area.

For some reason I have been doing stash dives and really mixing and matching any supplies I can find in my stash when I work with Cut To You cut files and I am loving it! I have a process video available below where I take you through my planning process and how I put the layout together. This layout I had a few bumps along the way I made sure to include those to show that not every layout and video is a smooth experience. We all have mishaps along the process and it’s okay!
