CUT to YOU | Get Messy Cut File | Melinda Sweetman

Hey, hey scrappy friends & welcome to the CUT to YOU blog today!! Melinda with you sharing this scrapbook layout!

I’ve used the super fun, new “Get Messy” cut file paired with the most recent CUT to YOU DT image, so fun!

I decided to use the super fun PhotoPlay Paper “Crafting with my Gnomies” collection & started by backing my cut file. The method I use the most is to trace the cut file, trim the pattern paper & adhere that to the back.

Now, this cut file is titled “Get Messy”, how do I, who loves mixed media, create a layout with this without mixed media?! It’s simple, I don’t!! I started with some black soot distress oxide, a blender brush & a 6×6 stencil.

Then splatters!! I found coordinating sprays to the main colours in my layout and added splatters all over my background. The sprays I used are Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Pink, 13 Arts Chalk Mist in Turquoise Light and Shimmerz Coloringz Lil Yellow School Bus.

From here it was a simple matter of attaching my cut file, backing my photo & adhering that to my back ground & a little embellishment. To finish up my page I’ve added my journaling & some machine stitching.

This was a super fun page to create and you can watch my process video over on my YT channel.

This cut file was a pretty quick & easy pick for me but have you checked out the “new” section in the shop recently?!
So many amazing cut files and I have actually done some batch cutting which I’m excited to create with!!

I hope you’ve enjoyed my share today & I can’t wait to share my next page with you!!
