Hey Bunny | Ali Skifton

Happy Easter my Crafty Peeps! It is Ali here with you on this Spring day, sharing my Easter layout using the Bunny Kisses Easter Wishes cut file. I am so excited that Spring has arrived and the Easter bunny is on his way!

The picture of me was taken on Easter day when I just got back from a girls scrapbooking trip in Utah and we were given these cute bunny ears to wear. I thought this title was perfect to go with my Easter picture. I used the new Easter/Spring line from Simple Stories called Bunnies and Blooms. I love backing up large titles with many different pattern papers. 6 x 6 paper pads are perfect for cut files if you are trying to save your larger sheets. for backgrounds.

I love adding dimension to my layouts so I always use foam tape on the back of my cut files. To add even more dimension to this page I pop dotted the tulips and used them for a bottom border of my title. It helps ground the cut file and I think it looks adorable.

I added some cute embellishments to my cut file that included this adorable foam girl bunny sticker, puffy mouse sticker and some enamel dots. I also like to add brads to the middle of my letters. You can also use enamel dots or other stickers to give your cut file some attention.

I added these love birds kissing and they are so sweet perched on top of my title. You will love using this big title cut file for your Easter layout.

I am sending everyone bunny kisses and Easter Wishes this weekend!

Love, Ali xoxo

Easter | Ali Skifton

Hi my Crafty Peeps! It is Ali here with you today sharing an Easter layout using the Bunny Silhouette Digital Cut File. This picture was taken last year of my parents coming over to our house to drop off an Easter basket. Due to Covid, we were not able to spend Easter together and it broke my heart. I was missing my parents and they surprised us by coming over and staying outside to give us bunny kisses and Easter wishes.

I am so excited to share with you a little trick I just taught myself with the Silhouette Cameo. I knew I wanted to have two bunnies on my layout and I wanted them to face each other. If you go into the Silhouette library and go to the tool bar there is a replicate button and you can mirror your original image and have two bunnies for the price of one.

I had so much fun creating these bunnies with the cute Simple Stores new Easter line. I backed up the bunnies with the fun different papers and added brads for their eyes and a cotton ball for their cute little fluffy tails.

I broke out my fringe scissors to cut the grass and layered 2 rows together. I stitched the bottom of the grass and tucked in an Easter basket and a couple eggs. I decorated the rest of the layout with stickers.

Go check out the cute Easter and Spring cut files in the shop! I will be doing another Easter layout post next month. So start hopping and get crafting with all these new cut files that Gwen has created.

Happy Spring!

Let’s Ride | Ribbon and Roses | Ali Skifton

Hello my crafty friends! It is Ali here with you today sharing an unique take on using a floral cut file. Most of you think that the floral cut files can just be used with Mother’s Day, wedding or other flower photographs. I am here to show you today that you can combine sassy and sweet together by using the new Ribbons and Roses Cut File.

I wanted to document the purchase of my new Harley Davidson helmet and leather jacket. If you look closely at the photo you will see a pink rose on my motorcycle jacket. I also have the same rose on the side of my helmet (you just can’t see it in this photo). Harley Davidson also uses a banner logo like this one in the cut file. I knew it was a perfect match for my photo when I saw the ribbon and rose cut file in the shop.

I used Felicity Jane’s new paper collection, Millie to back up the flowers and banner. I wanted to give the flowers some dimension so I used 3 different shades of pink to make them stand out more. I did the same with the leaves. I added enamel dots to the the centers of the flowers and sprinkled some around the banner. The title Let’s Ride was done with matching pink letter stickers from the Millie collection..

To tie in the black leather and helmet tough look I sprinkled black paint in 3 areas of my layout. I also used a black tab for my date and used 2 Scrappin Happy Studio flairs to bring the sassy and sweet combination together.

Spring is coming and I am excited to get back on the bike with my husband. Remember to be safe!

Lucky In Love | Ali Skifton

Hello my crafty friends! Love is in the air and I am Lucky in Love! I am so excited to be sharing with you today a new cut file and a collaboration with SpiegelMom Scraps. The design team was lucky to get a couple sheets of her foil to play with this month. I knew right away that I wanted to play with the gold foil and tie it together with the work Luck and of course Love, since we are celebrating Valentine’s Day this Month!

The foil went on the white cardstock so smoothly and it cut like butter on my Silhouette Cameo 4 machine. You just need to adjust your settings to print on Cover Stock and the rest adjusts itself. I was nervous at first to try it, but after my first time of cutting the Lucky In Love cut file, I just wanted to cut more files using her foils.

I added some patterned hearts and tassels on top of the title cut file and love how they pop with the stripe paper and gold foil. The pictures are of my husband and me sharing a milkshake at a local dinner in Milwaukee. We are so lucky in love and had fun celebrating our 13th Valentine’s Day together. I hope we have many more to come our way.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my layout. May you be lucky in love too!

Love | Ali Skifton

Love is in the air! Hello everyone! Thanks for joining me today and taking a peek at my layout. The theme this month was to use a black cut file. You wouldn’t think that would be a problem, but it was a bit of a challenge to step away from the white cardstock that I am familiar with using for my layouts. I decided to go with the Heart Grid Background cut file and loved how it turned out.

I used Cocoa Vanilla’s Daydream line because of the soft colors. I decided to turn two of my wedding pictures to black and white to tie in with the black cut file. I know a lot of people always think that these cut files can only be used for Valentine’s Day, but I knew right away that this would be perfect for Wedding pictures or even anniversary pictures. It is so versatile.

The soft colors in this line compliment the colors of my wedding pics. I decided to make the hearts into shakers and have a little bit of fun with this page. I used vellum to back up the hearts and filled it with the Cocoa Vanilla sprinkles. It gives it a much softer look with the vellum.

I decorated the rest of the page with a few die cuts and that is all it needed. The cut file says it all!

I want to wish all my creative friends a Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day is full of love and joy!

Ice Magic | Ali Skifton

Hello my friends! It’s Ali here with you today sharing a very wintery picture of my husband and me visiting an ice castle. We had to walk through an ice tunnel to leave and a beautiful rainbow was above our heads.

As soon as I saw the new cut files released by Gwen, I knew I had to work with the Rainbow Burst Background cut file for this photo.

I started backing the rainbow first with colors to match the ice rainbow. I decided then to have some fun and make the stars into shakers. I used a sticker package to back the stars and then cut some foam tape into very thins strips. You have to make sure that there are no gaps in the tape when you are creating shakers. I filled the stars with colored beads to match the colored papers backing them up.

This layout needed a topper and I created this border by sewing it on top. It is not that noticeable because I did use white thread to stick with the ice theme. To make it pop I added the rainbow colored bling to the scallops and used foam tape to adhere it.

To complete the Ice Magic layout I added white paint splats to the ice blue background. I also added some white and silver snowflakes to give the rainbow more of a wintery scene.

Thanks for looking my creative friends!

Christmas Wishes | Ali Skifton

Happy New Year! I am so excited to be here with you sharing my first layout for the Cut To You Design Team. I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and are still enjoying their time with their families and friends.

As soon as I saw the Christmas Wishes cut file I knew I had to use it to scrap our Christmas photo card. I decided to use the red paper to back up the whole cut file title because I wanted it to pop against the black and white star paper.

Here is the link to the Christmas Wishes Title Cut file that I used on my layout. There are so many terrific Christmas cut files in the shop it was hard to choose which one I wanted to use for this photo.

I decided to add my journaling to the title too, which I thought was something fun and different. I typed up the Christmas saying that I thought went well with the title cut file and the photo and added two enamel dots to the strip of paper. I added foam tape to the back of my cut file title to add some dimension to the layout. I then used the penguin and ornament die cuts to decorate the title. I also added heart card stock stickers to the middle of the letters R and A.

I hope you enjoy the layout and that it brings a smile to your face. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2021!

Love, Ali XO
