Brick Builder | Karen Jarman

Hi CTY Creatives

Karen with you today sharing a layout celebrating my nephews love of Lego and all things Star Wars. The Brick Builder Boy cut file was perfect! I backed the file with patterned paper in almost solid colour to give the affect of Lego pieces and I couldn’t resist making his face shine with some silver foiled cardstock that I had found hidden deep within my stash

.

I took inspiration for the overall Lego stet up on the photos, my nephew had created a backdrop and special place for all of his Star Wars creations. I added texture to the page with modelling paste and added some ink spray and splatters to give an overall galaxy feel to the layout.

To see how I created this one please pop on over to YouTube, I would just love that!

Thanks so much for stopping bye today.

Beauty All Around | Geometric Bauble | Karen Jarman

Hi CTY Creatives! Karen with you today sharing a layout using the recently released Geometric Bauble file. Even though this is one of the Christmas cut files I decided to create a non Christmas layout. I envisaged the bauble representing a lantern attached to a tree.

I have cut out the file in a couple of different sizes and backed with vellum. To create the look that the baubles hanging off a tree I used a branch stencil across the page with modelling paste and added some flowers for some added texture.

I layered some fussy cut flowers, butterflies and birds to create gorgeous clusters on the top of the baubles.

If you’d like to see this page come together hit that play button below!! I hope you enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you have a fabulous creative month!

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 16

HI CTY Creatives

Karen joining you today with Day 16 of Cut To You 25 Days of Christmas. I hope you have been enjoying all of the Design Team inspiration s so far this month. My layout today celebrates my boy’s first ever Christmas morning and features the Stars and Stripes cut file.

I love the photo wall on the CSI Challenge Case File Np 376 photo prompt and the file worked perfectly to represent the wall and I placed it on the page to create a Christmas tree.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum with adding a few clusters around the tree and finished off with a little gold spray for some Christmas shine!

Hi CTY Creatives

Welcome to day four of 25 Days of Christmas Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook ideas! I couldn’t go past using the Whimsy Woodland Cut File and a little mixed media fun to create my layout today..

For an added bonus I am solving CSI Challenge Case Number 377 I have used the animals and Christmas tree as inspiration along with the added challenge of diving into your old stash. I found a sheet of stickers I have no recollection of ever buying LOL

I cut out 5 of the Whimsy Woodland trees and painted them in shimmery gold paint for some Christmas sparkle!

BINGE WATCHING | KAREN JARMAN

Hi Cut To You Creatives! Karen with you today with a scrapbook layout using the awesome Binge Watching cut file. The file was a perfect match to solve CSI Challenge No 373 this month.

I love how the lounge has cushions so I popped them up on some foam to add a little dimension and added some fussy cut flowers to create more ‘cessions’. I really wanted to the cut file to be the main attraction for this layout so kept the embellishments to a minimum and finished things off with a splash of gold spray.

I hope you are having a wonderful creative month! Thanks so much for stopping by,

Window Dreamer | Shooting Stars | Karen Jarman

Hi Cut To You Creatives

Karen with you today sharing a scrapbook layout with lots of mixed media and using the gorgeous Shooting Stars cut file. This file was perfect to go along with the CSI Case Number 372.

My inspiration came from the star wallpaper in the photo and I tried to create the night sky with lots of spray ink layers. I have backed the cut file with patterned paper and to complete the look added ink splatters over the file for that final flourish.

The page is full of shimmer to give the illusion of twinkling stars and I love how it turned out.

I hope you check out the latest CSI challenges for this month and give them a go! Make sure you share your creations in the Cut To You Facebook group as well.

SHINE BRIGHT | SHINE BRIGHT BUILD A PAGE | KAREN JARMAN

Hi Cut To You Creatives, Karen sharing with you a super sweet layout featuring the Shine Bright Build a Page file. I am also solving another CSI Cold Case and this one is number 370. I have to admit this one is different for me, I don’t often use softer colours but I love how it turned out!

To go along with the colour board choices for the CSI challenge I also leaned in on some of the options from the evidence list. I couldn’t go past the cheesecloth and gold elements.

I have used pretty much every component of the cut file by using the negative and positive sections,. I love it when that happens. To reflect the gold element I went a little old school and covered the letters gold embossing powder. I was undecided if I was going to pop the letters up on foam and nestle them inside of the cut file but I opted to keep them flat and just glued them into place inside of the title.

The moon portion of the cut file was backed in patterned paper and once I added the sequins I felt it needed more to make the layout feeling more dreamy and that is where the muslin (it’s sort of cheese cloth right?) came in. I tucked it across the moon to give the appearance of floating.

You can see more on how I built this one here on YouTube!

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you get to create a little this week!

YOU | CROSSWORD BACKGROUND NO.1 | KAREN JARMAN

Hi CTY Friends Karen with you today. I hope you are able to get in some creative time. How did it get to October already, this year is just flying by and with Halloween approaching it has me thinking of Christmas but that is a whole other post!

My layout this week is embracing the colours of Halloween, Black, Purple and Orange which is all a perfect colour combination for the CSI Challenge Case Number 369!

The photo prompt for the challenge gave me the inspiration to use the Background Crossword No1 file. This represents the tiles in the chimney and for some dramatic flair I painted the file black using a paint pen.

I love how beautfully purple and orange sit boldly together and really pop off the page with the mixed media background

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you can join in on the fun with the CSI challenge this month!

Words Give Flight ] Karen Jarman

Hi Cut To You friends, it is so great to be sharing my latest layout with you today. My layout also solves another case file at CSI Challenge blog. This one solved case number 366 and features the Fly a Kit Trio cut file which is available in store here.

This months CSi’s challenges have been all about books and reading, I took inspiration from the photo prompt and substituted the butterfly nets with the kites. I felt the kites suited my title of Words Give Flight to Imagination and conveyed what I was trying say more successfully.

I backed the kites with velum and only glued down the centre of the kite so the edges could be lifted up to give some dimension and the feel of flying. Of course I couldn’t resist adding some fussy cut butterflies fluttering around the kites as well.

To see more of how I drew inspiration and created this one I would love it if you popped on over to YouTube

Thanks again for stopping by. Karen x

Our Story | Karen Jarman

Hi Cut To You Creatives

Sharing my first layout for September using the book component of the Our Story cut file. It was perfect to document my sisters love of Jane Austen’s’ Pride and Prejudice.

My layout was inspired by this month’s CSI Challenge Scene #367.

Amongst the flowers I also wanted to give the book an aged feel so I added some metallic paint with my fingers in the centre of the file and gradually lightened the paint around the edges.

I love dimension on my pages so I added layers of fussy cut flowers and turned up the edges of he cut file to give the impression that the pages were curling up.

I would love it if you visited YouTube to see how the CSI inspiration prompts came to life
