Hearts in a jar | mini album | Petra de Vroege

Hi CUTtoYOU lovers!

So nice to have you back again! Today I want to show you this cute mini album I made with the Hearts in a Jar file. Obviously you can use this any way you like, but I decided to turn it into a mini album.

I started with cutting the file several times. I deleted the inner pieces of the file so I could cut a solid jar to use as a backing for the complete “heart-pieces” and to use as separate pages.

I cut the insides of the hearts from design paper so I could back the hearts with them. I cut a few more so I could use them on the solid pages too.

I glued some of the jars together, I always use a fine tip applicator for these fine files and that works perfectly. The first page is a shaker page, I love shakers, if there is a way to incorporate one….. 😉

Backing the hearts was a labor of love, but I really like the result!

By not glueing the upper side of the hearts, I was able to tuck some embellishments behind them. This way it creates a bit more dimension, which in my opinion is always a good thing.

I loved working on this album, I love minis and especially when they are different from the usual square/rectangular ones! Do you make minis? You can find so many gorgeous mini-worthy files in the shop!

Sunshine state of mind |Gemstone circle |Petra de Vroege

Hi Cut to You lovers!

Thanks for stopping by here on our blog! Today I want to show you the layout I made with the beautiful Gemstone Circle cut file.

I “borrowed” a grand daughter for this cut file, so I could use soft pinks! I cut out the file in different sizes for some variation.

I cut the file from white card stock. I cut the smaller onces several times so I could easily turn them into little shakers, perfect for a little princess!

After cutting the eintire file, I seperated all the shapes so that I could cut the different parts from different papers to back the file. I also kept the two outlines from the outer and inner circle to cut the solid rings you see in the layout. This way you create an extra embellishment from the original cut file.

I backed the larger gemstone circles with colored vellum to let the oxide background peek through. By backing this file, you can easily use it for different projects since you can create a different look every time!

I loved turning the smaller ones into little shakers! Although you can see that my glue-skills where a bit off when I glued the different layers together, I tried to be at ease with my oops… It was not too crooked so I decided to go with it.

I really adore this file! I’m planning to use it again, perhaps for a cute little mini album… Let me know what your plans are with this gemstone of a gemstone!

I’d love to see your work in our Facebook community! Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

One Big Adventure | Petra de Vroege

Hi Cut to You lovers!
Today I wanna show you my very first Cut to You post! I made this layout with this super fun One BIG adventure cut file.
It is the perfect cut file to document this great, big adventure I’m starting at Cut to You!

I started off with cutting the entire file out of white cardstock. White cardstock is my to go to when it comes to cut files. I separated the inside of “BIG” so I could cut those letters again, out of design paper. Roughen up the edges to let them stand out a bit more (I use my super duper distress tool: a pair of scissors haha).

I saved the insides of the word “adventure” and colored them with oxides. I wanted to use pink to match the CUTtoYOU logo. Again, the super duper distress tool came in action and I used some foam tape to adhere them and give it some extra dimension.

I love the way it turned out! It’s fun to use the insides of a cut file like this. By coloring with inks or paint you can create your own design paper 🙂 I hope you all got inspired!
