To create my background I added some white gesso onto Kraft cardstock.
I cut the ‘December Title Block’ cut file from red cardstock using my Silhouette. I then backed the letters of the cut file with some Christmas themed pattern paper.
I added some Christmas-themed embellishments and some wood veneer stars, enamel dots and of course some black splatters.
I added some yellow water colour around my page to bring in some more yellow to the background.

I have used this cut file on a layout of me on our
honeymoon 10 years ago – eeeek!!!!
I really liked the tropical feel to the florals of this cut file,
and I teamed it with a tropical themed paper collection.
I sized the cut file to 10×10 with my Silhouette, and I cut one sheet of double sided paper. I used one side for the outside frame and one side for the inside frame. Using the same sheet of paper ensured the cut lines of my frame would line up perfectly.
I added some tropical themed embellishments and words.
I really love the versatility of this cut file,
and I have also created 2 clean and simple cards using it.
I resized the cut file with my Silhouette and cut 2 cuts from white cardstock.
I then got out my watercolours and coloured one of the cut files. I traced around the second cut file as a template then coloured the tracing. I then adhered the cut file over the ‘shadows’ to create two opposite looks.
I added a simple sentiment to each card.
I added some Glossy Accents over the cut file to add some subtle shimmer.
I cut the ‘Just One More Chapter’ cut file from white cardstock, then coloured the outline with red ink and the internal pieces with black gesso. I added some cheesecloth under the title just to lift it up out of the background.
I added some word stickers, some ink splatters, hand-written journaling and a felt embellishment.
I cut the cut file from black card stock using my Silhouette.
I then backed it with some bright, stripy patterned paper.
I added some white card stock and a black stripe as highlights to the camera Cut File before backing with the stripy paper.
Before I stuck the title down I created some more interest in the background using some white modelling paste through a stencil to create some subtle texture, then added some ink splatters in bright rainbow colours.
I added a small cluster of embellishments and some hand-written journaling.
