Firstly I am so proud to be a part of Cut to You and happy 2nd birthday to you! In celebration there is lots going on, I love a mood board challenge and this PINK one is just gorgeous. Make sure you join us!
And here is my take on the Mood Board challenge, of course I had to do a birthday themed layout. I have used Pink Paislee And Many More collection.I have used the gorgeous Let’s Party title cut file which is perfect for a birthday themed layout.Paper tearing was one of the first techniques I remember learning when I started scrapbooking many years ago, I have noticed of late it seems to be trending again and so I went back to a fav. I tore the top and bottom corners of my pink paper and backed it with a 12×12 banner paper, leaving the tears unglued so I could tuck elements under.
I cut my title Let’s Party measuring the space where I wanted it to go using white cardstock. Then choosing a bright coloured paper I cut each individual letter and heart segments (I always use the release compound function on my Silhouette Cameo to do this). Some letters and heart parts I used foam tape to adhere to create a 3D effect.Lastly I added my photo creating a polaroid photo mat and then embellishing with party themed elements. Lastly I added paint splatter of gold and white to add to the party effect. And there you have it one PINK PARTY themed layout. Head over to the shop for all your party and birthday themed cut files. Thank your stopping by and see you again soon!
Hello crafty friends today I have a layout sharing the super adorable Mrs Fox cut file! All the heart eyes for this cut file.
And here is my layout!
Of course she had to be the focus of my page so I cut her at 8.5×8.5 inches and adhered to my background page with foam tape so I could tuck elements under later. I decided to go with a little mixed media background instead of my go to white cardstock so the fox blended in naturally. I then paper pieced the fox by pulling out the sections as I wanted (using the release compound function Silhouette Cameo).
I then adhered my photo choosing not to mat it as I didn’t want my page to end up look too busy., but added some floral die cuts and a phrase sentiment.
I added my title by using a die cut and tucking some flowers under the foxes tail. I finished off adding some enamel dots and two puffy stickers. I love how she turned out and I think it goes with the photo of my tribe perfectly!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and head over to the CTY shop to see this and all the other new release cut files.
Hello CTY friends Rachel here and today I have a vintage themed layout to share. This photo is of my great, great grandmother who I was blessed to have in my life until I was 10 years old, I having such fond memories of her. I have used two cut files on this layout both new releases Adorable You and Love Heart Rows.
I have used the beautiful collection by Uniquely Creative Winter Rose. I added a row of machine stitching to each ‘wood panel’ of my background paper. I sized the Love Heart Rows cut file so it would sit in-between the printed floral blooms on the background paper. I set aside some of the ‘negative’ hearts so I could add some later. I next positioned my photo with foam tape which I used a die cut frame (I also added some machine stitching around it).
I then started to add embellishment clusters, where I could adding machine stitching in keeping with my vintage theme, taking some elements under my picture and some over.
I next add my title using the Adorable You title cut file. Once cut I used an embossing folder (dots) and ran it through my big shot, this adding texture and a pretty effect on the plain paper. I added the YOU with foam tape to create dimension, all these techniques attracting your eye.
I then added some of the negative hearts that I put aside from the Love Heart Rows cut file, some I added with foam tape to add height and others I used a dot of wet glue.
To finish of I added a light spray of gold and white paint, which again keeps the vintage theme going.
I love how this layout turned out, lots of varying dimension and textures. Don’t be afraid to use machine stitching, it doesn’t have to be super perfect or neat, although that will come with practice but the textured effect is so worth it. These two cut files are just beautiful and are a must to have in your cut file library.
Have a wonderful week and I hope you get a little creative time.
Hello everyone today I have a simple but classic layout to share with you using the beautiful Rose Bud Wreath cut file.
I have used Kaiser Craft Amethyst collection (and I apologise if my white base cardstock looks like it has a blue tinge, purple is such a difficult colour to photograph if you are using a white base paper).I cut the Rose Bud wreath at 10×10 inches. I used wet glue to attach and once dry I added a row of machine stitching on the circle part of the wreath. Put your machine stitching speed to it’s lowest and sewing on thin paper pieces like this are easier. So my rose bud did not look flat, (once I have used the release compound function to pull out the rose petals) I attached with foam tape to raise them, I also did the same with the leaves. It really is worth the time for the effect!
I added a border strip to the top and bottom of my page to create a stark contrast to the white and finished off by adding a row of tiny adhesive pearls. I fussy cut some butterflies and attached with foam tape following the flow of the wreath.I added my photo using an insta frame die cut, but these are so easy to create yourself. I again added with foam tape so I could add a floral bunch behind the frame and finished off with a sub title ‘happiness’ die cut.Lastly I added another phrase sentiment and pretty butterfly. I went back and added some lilac NUVO pearl drop to the wings of the butterflies which tie in with the small pearls on the border strips.I love this Rose Bud Wreath, it is so classic! We have lots of florals in the shop if you love this look as much as I do.
Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you are all safe and well.
How absolutely gorgeous is the floral title/page builder This Story cut file which is a new release.
I have used an older collection by Dear Lizzy New Day collection.
I went back to my white card stock and also cut Love This Story in white as I wanted use a dark contrast paper to back the cut file. I used the Release compound function (Silhouette Cameo) so I could cut the letters separately and add with foam tape. You will note some I added without foam tape, in doing this you add visual interest and height.
I chose two different colours/patterns for the roses and added a gem stone to the centres.
I added my embellishments with foam tape also to create a 3D effect.
I added a phrase sentiment which went perfect…….Love This Story…….Love This Moment!
I added my photo (which is courtesy of IG, but I promise I have been to Paris and the colours were perfect for my layout!) and added embellishments around it which assisted to ‘frame’ it and draw your eye to it a I chose not to mat it).
I finished of by adding some light splatters of black paint. And there you have it one pretty layout of me remembering my days in Paris.
Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting.
Hello cut file crafty friends, today is all about florals and leaves in bloom! I have used the gorgeous new cut file Lots of Leaves Frames.
And here is what I created.
I have used the new collection Bloom street by Paige Evans and hand made flowers (yes get your hand punches out and layer away!).Instead of my go to white base paper I have used this gorgeous multi coloured striped paper as I joined in the great challenge over at CSI Challenge Blog.
I cut the file at approximately 10×10 inches and then backed the lower frame and leaves in the same paper. I then added my photo to the top frame.
This type of cut file makes it so easy to embellish in such an eye catching way. I set about embellishing the bottom frame by adding my title, a die cut phrase, adding a layered flower and die cut butterfly. I went off centre for visual interest.I added my layered flowers in amongst the leaves coming off the frames, this way they look like they are a part of the frame. To finish off I added some phrase sentiments and more flying beauties such as this lovely bird as well as the butterflies. This is a very ‘busy’ layout for me but I like it for a change of pace so to speak (back to white card stock tomorrow lol!).
Thank you as always for stopping by and more than ever in these challenging times how lucky are we to have such a hobby to fill our time at home.
Take care and stay safe.
Hey Cut to You friends today I have a super girly layout to share with you! I have used the gorgeous Sew Loved cut file.
I have used Simple Stories Dream Big collection. And here is my layout.
I cut the Sew Loved heart at 9 inches. I used an ombre pink thread to create visual interest.
Once I had layered my pattern papers (pink patterned paper adhered with foam tape to create a 3D effect) on the white cardstock base, I used wet glue to adhere the Sew Loved cut file. I used a scallop punch on the patterned papers. I curved my title to follow the curve of the heart.
Once I had stitched the heart (using a simple cross stitch) I added my photo (with foam tape) which I matted and added embellishments under the foam taped photo, this draws your eye to the photo.
I created an embellishment cluster under my photo, adding a word embellishment and using foam tape to again create a 3D effect.
I added another embellishment cluster on the opposite side, as my title is so big, it creates your visual triangle.
And there you have it one very simple layout but with lots of layers, added height to elements and sewing, it certainly is enough!
Thanks for stopping by today, take care, stay well and craft often.
Hello CTY friends Rachel here! Well today it’s all about scrapping, and I’m using the most perfect cut file to document being a part of the CTY design team in 2020.
It’s called the Scrap Happy Cut File.
I love this cut file and those scissors, just too cute! I have used Kaisercraft Crafternoon collection.
I resized the Scrap Happy title to fit with my intended design and cut in white. I then used the release compound function to pull out the letters (Silhouette Cameo) and cut them in a pretty floral and would provide a nice contrast against the white. Several of the letters I added with foam tape to create depth and so it didn’t look ‘flat’ on my page.
I added my 4×4 inch photo in the centre, under my Scrap Happy title and again used foam tape to add height.
I used gold glitter paper to cut the handles of the scissors because I love a little bling. I next added some floral die cuts slightly under my photo on both sides.
I created my sub journalling by using die cut phrase and aligned it in the centre, under my photo finished off with two cute die cut hearts layered over each other.
The key to this layouts design is keeping all your elements centred and adding dimension by using foam tape on some elements such as letter in your cut file title. Well that’s it from me today, have a fab crafty week and see you again soon.
Hello CTY friends Rachel here again with another LOVE themed layout! This has to be one of my fav photos of my youngest and I, hence my title. I have used this beautiful new release cut file Rainbow Love I have used Lucky Us collection by Pink Paislee.
Firstly I cut the rainbow in white cardstock at 10×10 inches. I started at the hearts and worked my way in. I added the hearts with foam tape to create a 3D effect. I also added several die cuts heart on top of these hearts. Layering is a great way to create a 3D effect.I then used three different patterned papers for my rainbow creating visual interest.I matted my photo and added with foam tape, tucking under a flower sticker and adding a heart sticker slightly over the photo finished off with a floral sticker on the other side of my photo.I added my title keeping it in line with the bottom of the rainbow, and then added my sub titles directly under and keeping it centred. You could do so much with this Rainbow Love cut file, lots of creative possibilities! Head over to the Cut to You shop to see this and all the other gorgeous cut files to add to your collection. Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful creative week.
