CUT to YOU | Love You More | Heart You More Background Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. As Spring is coming on the Northern Hemisphere, I feel the desire to use more colours on my scrapbook layouts, so I combined the Heart You More Background Cut File with rainbow colours. I chose a photo of my daughter and me from last year, when she asked for a selfie on the couch – we’ve spent so much time at home last year, that couch selfies are definetely a thing! πŸ˜›

First I cut the Heart You More Background Cut File from white cardstock and chose the Good Vibes patterned paper from the Happiness collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio for backing it. I followed the colours of the patterned paper.

When I was ready, I glued it onto a white cardstock, and cut 1-1 cm from both sides. I cut two stripes from the Good Vibes paper and glued them on the left and right side to make it 12″ again. I also added machine stitching to them.

I placed my photo in the bottom right corner and added some stickers and a die cut to it. I also made a little cluster in the left corner above to balance the layout.

I think this colourful layout with these many hearts doesn’t need any more decorations, sometimes a cut file is just enough πŸ˜‰

I hope I could inspire you to use such background cut files as a highlight of your layout. Go to the shop and get some of the new cut file designs or some amazing background cut files for your next projects! πŸ˜‰

First Day | Onward and Upward Cut File | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends!

I am happy to be with you again to share my latest design team project. As I scrolled through all the amazing designs available in the CUT to YOU store, my eye was drawn to the Onward and Upward Cut File. I thought it would be perfect to document my son’s first day at his Early Learning Centre.

I just love the symbolism of the increasing bar graph representing his journey out into the world of learning. And I had so much fun playing with some bright and bold colours to create the layout.

You can see how I created this layout in my process video below:

And here are a few more close-up images of the finished layout.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my project. I hope you have a great day!

CUT to YOU | You Are Beautiful | Floral Camera Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. My task for today’s post was to use a floral cut file, and I chose the Floral Camera Cut File from the February Release. I took some photos of my daughter when she finally lost her second front tooth – she was very happy, beacuse it was a long process… And this cut file was a perfect match for those precious photos πŸ™‚

First I cut the Floral Camera Cut File from white cardstock. For my layout I used the Flora No.3. collection of Carta Bella, I chose similar colours to back the florals in the cut file as in one of the cards, which I fussy-cut to create a title.

I backed the camera with a light blue patterned paper from the same collection. I printed one of the photos twice, and lifted it using a heavy cardstock, as if the camera lens was zooming on her.

I fussy cut some flowers from a patterned paper of the Flora No.3 collection and glued it under the florals of the cut file to complement it.

In order to balance the layout I added some fussy cut florals to the bottom right corner too. Finally I added my journalling. I really love how it turned out: full of flowers, as I love it!

For more beautiful floral cut files head on the CUT to YOU shop and have a look at the Florals and Nature section of the shop, but there are also gorgeous designs among the March Release! πŸ˜‰

CUT to YOU | Unique | Sweetheart Banners Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest scrapbook layout for CUT toYOU. In February we have great collaboration with Spiegelmom-Scraps, you could already have seen many gorgeous inspirations with the amazing Fab Foil. As I show you my layout, I’m going to tell you what not to do when using a Fab Foil… Interested? Then read along πŸ˜‰

First of all: watch the great How to? video of Sara Scraps and do what she says. If she says you should use a smooth cardstock, then don’t try to turn the textured cardstock over to think it’ll do, because it won’t… The first mistake I’ve made.

After getting some bits and pieces of leftover smooth white cardstock (I ran out of them, I blame the pandemic), I began to release the silver Fab Foil of Spiegelmom Scraps and adhere it to the smooth cardstock. Take your time, if you don’t want to get bubbles. The second mistake I’ve made.

When I was ready, I started to cut out the Sweetheart Banners Cut File from the February Release. I used the settings Sara advised in her video: Heavy Coverstock, Blade 7, 2 passes. It cut out and came down easily from the cutting mat, but for the next time I should use a new blade, as the edges are not as smooth as I wished… The third and last mistake I’ve made… ;-P

For my background I used a watercolour paper and used some Catherine Pooler ink pads (Drive-In, Sauna) for watercoloring, the purple color is from the Prima Watercolor Confections Pastell Dreams Set. I backed the cut file with some patterned papers of the Bohemian Dreams collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I chose the Beautiful Mess paper as a frame for my layout, so I chose colours to match that patterned paper.

I matted my photo, and fussy cut some hearts from the Gypsy Heart paper and added them colour-matching on the background. Finally I coloured the title with the Drive-In ink pad and the purple watercolour I used for the background.

It hope I could inspire you to try this Fab Foil, beacuse it’s an awesome product! Inspite my failures I would like to make some more layouts with it πŸ˜€ So get some new cut files from the shop, order the foils from Spiegelmom Scraps and start creating with Fab Foils! πŸ˜‰

CUT to YOU | Bee My Valentine | Bee My Valentine Cut File

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. To make it more exciting for the team and more inspiring for you, from February each Design Team member has a special challenge to fulfill. This time my task was to use a black cut file – if you know me, you know that I hardly ever used a black cut file before! So it was really a challenge for me! πŸ˜›

As Valentine’s Day is getting closer I went with that theme. I cut the Bee My Valentine cut file from last year’s release from black textured cardstock.

I got some older Valentine’s Day collections from my stash, I chose the My Love paper from the Heart Day collection of Crate Paper as my background.

I backed the cut file with the Hugs & Kisses paper, and the bee with the Adore You paper from the same collection.

As the black cut file is big and impressive, I didn’t add many embellishments to the layout. I matted my photo with the same patterned papers, and added some stickers and chipboard stickers from the Crate Paper Main Squeeze collection, and some ScrapUp phrase stickers in Hungarian.

What do you think, did I manage to fulfill the requirements for the challenge? Would love to hear, what you think. Thanks for being with me today, let’s get crafty with more cut files, cut white or black πŸ˜‰ Visit the shop, you can find a gorgeous new release there!

Merry and Bright | Tree in a Jar |Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends well today is my last DT share as I am stepping down. I have loved my time on the CTY design team and sharing my layouts with you for the last 18 months. I have created another Christmas layout using the https://createdbygwen.com.au/product/tree-in-a-jar-cut-file/ cut file again but this time I super sized it!

Again I created a sequin shaker vellum pocket and added a Christmas mix I put together. All you need to do is cut two vellum pieces the same size as the jar, glue 3/4 of the way around, fill with your sequins in the opening and then finish gluing the rest of the jar. Glue the complete cut file over the vellum and your done!
I added the complete cut file with foam tape so I could tuck elements under it. Here I added a Christmas present embellishment cluster.
Once I added my photo I added some embellishments on the actual cut file. I also added a gold paper piece at the bottom of my jar and some star acetate behind the lid.
I used an older Pinkfresh Studio Christmas collection and in keeping with the printed words on the background paper I added more phrases with foam tape to add dimension.
To add texture and layers to my layout I added two layers, solid against a patterned paper, ripping in a random manner.

Well that’s it from me, wishing you all a happy, safe and blessed Christmas and many 2021 pay us back for all the hardships are have all been through.

Together in the Christmas Fair | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. We are already after the 3rd Sunday of Advent, and during advent-time we like to organise some special activities, like going to Christmas concerts, watching the Nutcracker ballett, visiting Christmas markets, drinking some mulled wine, eating chimney cake… But this year is different, all of the above have been cancelled… 😦 So I revisit those memories in my scraproom.

I chose the wonderful Holly Background cut file as a base of my layout. I cut it from white cardstock and started to back it with some patterned papers of the MuΓ©rdago collection of MintopΓa.

When I was ready with the backing of the Holly Background cut file, I sprinkled some watercolours on a white cardstock.

When it was dry, I glued the cut file on the white background, and as I found it was too pale, I cut the edges and added a darker border.

Then I cut some poinsettias with my Sizzix, and added them to the cut file.

I finally added the title and some gold leaf and pine stickers to the flowers.

I hope you are all going to have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, and will have some time for creating too! For having great basics to start, visit the CUT to YOU shop for some beautiful Christmas cut files! πŸ˜‰

Super Star | Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new boy themed layout featuring the awesome Rock Star cut file! The Rock Star cut file is a very versatile cut file! You will want this one for boy layouts, Christmas layouts, travel layouts, birthday layouts and so much more!

Rock Star cut file

I cut out the Rock Star design from white textured cardstock and then backed all the open star spaces with different patterned papers. I used the Teen Spirit collection by Echo Park paper. I decided on a red paper for the large main star in the centre to help my photo and title pop.

For the star to the left of the photo, near the title, I added a Charm’s Creations fabric star, it fit perfectly right in that spot! I layered a cute pixelated heart sticker on top of the star. I added craft foam underneath the cut file and adhered it to another piece of white textured cardstock, I love the shadows and dimension this creates. I then trimmed down the cardstock and matted the whole layout with one of the 12′ x 12′ papers in the Teen Spirit collection.

I layered one of the papers from the 6′ x 6′ paper pad under my photo and adhered the photo towards the right of the main star, I also added my wood veneer title here to the left of the photo. I also added a boy themed flair to the right of the photo.

Some of the embellishments I added were some die-cuts above the photo and above the title. I also added some wood veneer stars and a sticker under the wood veneer title.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today. I hope you enjoyed my layout and that you were inspired in some way?!

Happy creating!

Tarrah x

Merry Christmas | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. Have you seen the many more and more beautiful Christmas cut files in the CUT to YOU shop? Whether you are documenting a previous memory or preparing for your December Daily album, these cut files will be perfect for you! πŸ˜‰

As December is coming closer, I like to scrap Christmas photos. This one is from last year, was taken on Christmas Eve, which we usually spend just the three of us. In Hungary we decorate the tree on this day, and the presents are under the tree. It is not Santa who brings gifts on Christmas Eve (because he brings some sweets to the good children on the 6th December), but the Little Jesus or the angels, as the faith of the family it requires.

For my layout I chose the Poinsettia Wreath cut file, it is sooo beautiful, I had to use it ASAP! πŸ˜€

As I wanted to use traditional colours, I used the Together for Christmas collection from Pink Paislee from last year. I backed the cut file with red and green patterned papers.

I arranged the cut files as it is, and started to decorate the wreath with some fussy cut flowers and leaves.

I matted the photo with some patterned papers, made a tag, and put the photo on the upper side of the wreath.

I added the title in the middle to separate the two parts. This way I created some white space under the title. I finally added a chipboard from ScrapUp! ScrapBook from my stash.

I hope I could inspire you to make a layout with this cut file. Get over to the shop, and find some new cut files πŸ˜‰

Love Your Selfie | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends, today I have this fun layout featuring a selfie of my cat and I (yes he always is on my craft desk getting into some mischief!). I have used the fab Love your Selfie cut file.

I have used this bright and beautiful collection by Cat Martin and Pretty Little Studio Colour Me Happy.

I decided to cut this cut file in black to make the bright colours of this collection really pop. I then created a vellum shaker pocket for the lens.

I used a pink cardstock which I embossed with a polka dot folder, this really adds texture and definition to your layout.

To add a 3D effect some of the letters I added with foam tape and others with glue.

I next started to embellish around my cut file add them with foam tape slightly over the camera so elements are tied together.

Lastly I added some light splatters of black paint to break up the white background paper.

I really love to create layouts every now and then that are modern, bright and fun! This cut file is certainly a must to have in your cut file library that’s for sure! Head to the CTY shop to see all the cut files. Thank you for stopping by today and I will see you again later in the month with some Christmas inspiration.
