I started by adding the image into my Cricut software and removing the outer and some of the not-needed inner contour lines so that the main shapes were cut out of the cardstock so I was using the negative of the file as I wanted to feature it as my background.
I decided to pair it with the beautiful Unforgettable collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio (which I have to admit I have totally been hoarding). I used a turquoise to back the cutfile and then added a small piece of the woodgrain paper around two of the edges (and kept the rest for another time).
I used several different sheets from the 6×8 pad to mat my photo and add lots of layers. Then I sorted through my die cut ephemera and tucked in lots of florals and hearts around the photo and into different parts of the cutfile.
I used the foam title ‘Family’ and added a few of the small black hearts at various points too. I then finished off by adding some pretty little sequins and some enamel dots, again tucked into the cutfile and sprinkled all over! I also tucked a small tag behind the photo and added some cotton thread which was then swirled down the side of the page and of course I added some of those beautiful butterflies!
I love the way this has turned out and I love how the cutfile adds so much interest to the background and allowed me to tuck lots of little details in too!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Don’t forget to check out all the awesomeness that is currently in the shop!
I love this cut file and those scissors, just too cute! I have used Kaisercraft Crafternoon collection.
I resized the Scrap Happy title to fit with my intended design and cut in white. I then used the release compound function to pull out the letters (Silhouette Cameo) and cut them in a pretty floral and would provide a nice contrast against the white. Several of the letters I added with foam tape to create depth and so it didn’t look ‘flat’ on my page.
I added my 4×4 inch photo in the centre, under my Scrap Happy title and again used foam tape to add height.
I used gold glitter paper to cut the handles of the scissors because I love a little bling. I next added some floral die cuts slightly under my photo on both sides.
I created my sub journalling by using die cut phrase and aligned it in the centre, under my photo finished off with two cute die cut hearts layered over each other.
The key to this layouts design is keeping all your elements centred and adding dimension by using foam tape on some elements such as letter in your cut file title. Well that’s it from me today, have a fab crafty week and see you again soon.
Hi, Piroska here today with my latest layout. My daughter has just started school in September, and started to go to a Rock&Show course, as she just loves dancing. After couple of months she got the opportunity to go to a dance competition with her friends in January. This photo on my layout was taken by her teacher, who captured their happiness as they heard the good news. All the way home they were shouting: Yay! Yay! I am in! I’ll go to the competition! 😀
I was very glad to find the Yay Yay Yay Background cut file in the CUT to YOU shop, as it matches my theme perfectly. I used a smooth white cardstock for cutting and chose a bright colourful background paper from the Unforgettable collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I wanted the cut file to pop as it is part of my title and important part of my theme.
I backed my photo with some patterned papers, cut out some butterflies and arranged my photo and a journal card with some floral cut outs on the bottom right corner of the layout. In order to balance the page I added some butterflies and stickers up into the left corner.
I also played with dimensions by using 3D foam adhesive and curling up the wings of the butterflies. I finally added some clear stickers, enamel dots, the title and foam hearts.
I love how easily you can make a page by using a background cut file! Look around in the shop, you can find some goodies 😉
I have created this layout which was inspired by CSI Challenge Case File 306. I was inspired by the image and birthday cake. CSI Challenge Blog here if you would like enter and simply see all the lovely DT inspiration they have on show.
It’s Piroska here, and this is my very first post on the Cut To You blog. I am overjoyed and very grateful to Gwen to get the chance to join the Design Team of these amazing scrapbookers.
As the CTY team is my first international Design Team, I wanted to scrap this special memory. The new Calendar 2020 cut file was perfect for the photo of the DT announcement.
I wanted to get a light and airy look, so I decided to cut the file from white cardstock and use a white cardstock as a base too.
White on white could be boring, but adding 3D foam squares to lift the background cut file creates shadows, and shadows give a special “colour” and more dimension to the layout. I did not add dimensional foam stickers to everywhere, only to those parts, where there was enough space to add them, and I cut them in half to be able to place them on the edges.
As the background file is also the part of my title (Living the Dream: Jan-Jun 2020), I decorated those parts, but only those parts of the cutfile. For my whole layout I used the Unforgettable collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I chose pink and grey colours to reflect on the photo, so I added clear stickers in those colours under the Jan and Jun parts, and to my photo. I added cut outs and clear stickers to the 2020 part, and cut out some butterflies to continue playing with the dimensions.
It is so easy to create a layout with this page builder cut file. What are your plans for 2020? Is there a special event you are going to attend? Grab this cut file from the shop, and create a layout like this!
Hey Cut to You friends! Today I have a layout featuring one of the new super pretty floral cut files, Roses and Frames
I have used the new collection by Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice collection which is just beautiful!
I decided I wanted to use a 3×3 inch photo, so re sized the cut file so the frame would fit my photo. I centred this on my white cardstock but did not glue down the leaves so they would give the appearance of movement on my page.
I paper pieced the two roses and leaves by using the ‘Release Compound’ function (Silhouette Cameo) which allows you to seperate the rose petals/leaves and cut, which means your roses will look perfect!
I then attached my photo with foam tape to create height on my layout and ensure your eye would be drawn to it.
The second frame I created an embellishment cluster which reflected the theme of my photo/layout. Again I foam taped some of the elements which allowed me to tuck some under. This is where I took the opportunity to add a sub title and word sentiments (my form of journalling for this layout).
I added a second embellishment cluster to the right of my photo, adding some more word sentiments, a gorgeous bird die cut finished off with some tiny glitter hearts and a word sentiment tab at the top of my photo.
Lastly I added my title ‘Be Happy’ with foam tape and to break up the white I added some light splatters of gold spray.
You of course could add two photos and create embellishment clusters to each side of the frames.
And there you have it one super pretty layout where most of the work is done for you in regards to design with this gorgeous cut file.
Thank you for stopping by and see you later in the month where I will be sharing some Christmas Tags in preparation for Christmas, there is nothing more fun than creating your own Christmas wrapping and tags!
Hey all Rachel here, here is my first layout for October and I have used the gorgeous Travel Grid cut file (yep I love grid layouts!) . This time my theme is photos from a trip to Italy, picking some highlight photos. I have used Pebbles Inc Adventure Awaits collection.
I cut my grid is a bright colour as I wanted it to contrast against my dark blue background. However I did adhere it to a white cardstock so when I embellished they would not not get ‘lost’. My grid is cut at 10×10 inches.
Before adhering my grid down I added die cut flowers to each side, tucking them slightly under before sticking it down on my blue base paper which I did with foam tape to create dimension.
I added my photos first (from a trip to Italy). I cut the word TRAVEL in a floral paper and added with foam tape to create dimension. If you use the release compound function on Silhouette you can drag each letter out of the grid which makes it easier to cut in papers other than the grid cut cut out. (I only have a Silhouette Cameo but I am sure other cutting machines would have a similar function).
I created a sub title by using one of the squares adding the country and date.
Then the fun bit to embellish the squares. Again I used foam tape to add embellishments for height. Some embellishments I layered over each other and some flow into the nexr square.
I added small puffy stickers to each grid keeping the travel theme in mind. You could of course add lots more photos to this grid layout.
Well that’s it from me today, thank you for stopping by and I hope this layout using this gorgeous TRAVEL grid inspires you to get out some holiday snaps and create your own scrapbooking memory!
I cut the cut file from black card stock using my Silhouette.
I then backed it with some bright, stripy patterned paper.
I added some white card stock and a black stripe as highlights to the camera Cut File before backing with the stripy paper.
Before I stuck the title down I created some more interest in the background using some white modelling paste through a stencil to create some subtle texture, then added some ink splatters in bright rainbow colours.
I added a small cluster of embellishments and some hand-written journaling.
