Everyday Happiness | Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new design team layout featuring the gorgeous new Heart of Flowers cut file! As soon as I saw this beautiful design, I knew I wanted to use it right away!

Heart of Flowers cut file

I cut the design out from white cardstock and then backed all the pieces with various papers in the Pinkfresh Studio ‘Just a Little Lovely’ 6′ x 6′ paper pad. I will admit this did take some time but I think its worth it in the end!

Once the pieces were all backed, I added craft foam underneath and adhered it down on my chosen background paper using a liquid adhesive. It took a little bit of jiggling and shifting to get the heart shape to look right, that is the beauty of using a liquid adhesive on cut files, you have a little bit of time for repositioning if needed before the glue dries.

I chose a photo of my eldest niece for this page, I adhered the photo over to the right slightly and popped it up with craft foam too. I added a die-cut and a layered sticker to the left of the photo and also added some gold glitter enamel dots to the centres of each flower. On the right of my photo, I added a Charm’s Creations handmade heart in a cream colour with a sticker placed on top. I also added a banner die-cut above the photo.

Thank you so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today. I hope you enjoyed my layout and that you were inspired in some way? Make sure to check out the CUT to YOU store for this gorgeous new cut file as well as hundreds of other cut files designed to suit any project!

Good Times | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest share for CUT to YOU. Have you seen the November Release of CUT to YOU cut files? They are just amazing! Beautiful designs for fall and for November, the month of gratitude. I’ve chosen the Autumn Leaf cut file for my layout, because it was just perfect for my photos.

First I cut the Autumn Leaf cut file from white cardstock. I cut it big, because I wanted that to be the highlight of my layout. For backing it I used the 6×6 paper pad of the Daydream collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. For my background I chose the Up in the Clouds patterned paper from the Daydream Collection Kit, it suits the coat of my daughter very well.

I matted my photos with some patterned papers of the 6×6 paper pad.

I cut some leaves using some Tim Holtz Thinlits dies with my Sizzix using the same colours as at backing the cut file. I decorated my photos with them, and added some stickers, a flair and a cut out piece to them.

Finally I added my title which I also decorated with some leaves. I really loved making this layout – using a huge cut file makes a great impact.

Now go to the shop and get some of the greatest new cut files ๐Ÿ˜‰ Happy scrapping!

Look on the Sunny Side | Rachel Lowe

I fell in love with the Tropical Punch cut file the minute I saw it! I have created a summer layout (of course) using a photo of me in Capri Italy and yes we had a drink just like this!

And here is my layout which I created with Crate Paper Sunny Days collection.

I used a pale pink cardstock to cut the outer of the cut file, which once attached to my page a added machine stitching to add definition. I then chose a pink and blue striped paper to paper piece the tropical punch glass/cup. I added the flowers with foam tape to add dimension.

I paper pieced the umbrella keeping it in the pink and blue hues. Adding pops of colours is important when your layout has a majority colour, so I added a bright green for the leaves, a bright yellow for the lemon and peach patterns for the fruits on a stick, I used a blue and gold patterned paper for the straws.

Again I added some elements with foam tape to continue adding dimension to my page.

I didn’t use a mat for my photo but instead placed it in amongst the printed floral border, and creating an embellishment cluster to the side of my photo.

I added my title ‘Look on the Sunny Side’ in between my photo and cut file to connect them visually.

I finished my layout off by adding embellishments that added to the tropical feel of my layout.

This cut file is a wonderful page builder for any layout. To see this and other new release cut files head over to www.cuttoyou.com.au

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful and safe week.

Boo | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. I hope you are all doing well, and have some time to prepare for Halloween. We don’t celebrate this holiday in Hungary, but my daughter got to know about it through the cartoons, so she would love to try once that “trick or treat” sweets collecting game ๐Ÿ˜€ She already got a Halloween costume , which she wears proudly each October. ๐Ÿ™‚

Of course, I had to scrap the memory when we were together shopping those clothes. I chose the Ghostly cut file for my layout.

I’ve been thinking about trying to make a layout with transparent ghosts, so I first cut the Ghostly cut file from white cardstock, then from a patterned cardstock from the Hey, Pumpkin collection of Crate Paper. I wanted to use the black cobwebby paper for my background, and highlight the gosts with the white cut file.

I wanted to fill the holes with a transparent sheet of foil, glue the eyes and mouth of the ghost on it, and ready. But in the meanwhile I changed my mind, and started to make shaker boxes from the ghosts. I used heavy cardboard to create a dimension for the sequins, and it took a while to cut out and glue down all those curves and little lines…

When I was ready with the glueing, I got out my powder tool and swept the foil pieces with it in order to prevent static, namely the sequins won’t stick to the foil. Then I started to fill my ghost boxes with different sizes and patterns of sequins, which were part of the September Song Base Kit at Clique Kits. When I was ready I closed the boxes with a 12″x12″ white cardstock.

I backed my photo with white tissue paper and some patterned papers of the same collection and the purple one is from BoBunny. I also add a heavy cardboard piece under the layers to add some dimension.

Finally I added some chipboard and phrase stickers, some thread and my journalling to the page. I hope you are going to try this technique, although it is not a 30 minutes layout, it is definetely worth it! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Go to the shop and get some of cut files from the latest release!

Far and Wide | Backpack Cut File | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends today I have a layout to share using the fab https://createdbygwen.com.au/product/backpack-cut-file/. As soon as I saw it a travel themed layout came to mind!

I wanted it to be bright and fun so I enlarged it and paper backed it with the new collection by Paige Evans Go the Scenic Route. I added machine stitching to add texture and definition.

I added it to a 10×10 inch white card stock with foam tape so I could add elements later. I added two borders to the white card stock (isn’t this heart paper gorgeous!). I then added embellishments behind the backpack, tickets and a packing list, perfect for my layout theme.
I next added my photo (with foam tape) which is 3.5×3.5 inches, this photo is of me in Turkey Istanbul in 2016. I matted my photo, added some machine stitching and then tucked a floral bunch and tab/heart behind my photo.
Lastly I added my title, following the shape of the backpack, I used bright coloured alphas so it wouldn’t get lost on my layout. I added some typed details such as destination and date.

I love how this turned out, and this backpack is so gorgeous and I know I will use it again for different themed layouts. It is a must have in your cut file library. You can shop here https://createdbygwen.com.au/shop/

Thank you for stopping by and happy crafting!

Happy Moments | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. I hope you are all doing well, have some time for our great hobby too! I really love to get out of everydays’ business and get crafty with some beautiful cut files ๐Ÿ˜‰

For my layout today I’ve chosen the Magnolia Butterfly cut file, from the August Release. It is just.gorgeous! ๐Ÿ˜€ First I’ve been thinking it from patterned paper (which would also look great), but then I cut it from smooth white cardstock.

I backed the flowers and leaves of the cut file with some beautiful patterned papers of Cocoa Vanilla Studio Daydream collection. I love the combination of peachy blush and darker grey colours!

I decided not to back the whole cut file, because I didn’t want to glue the whole cut file down, only the middle of it. I wanted to have some floating effect with the wings.

As I put the cut file on the white cardstock background, it looked so empty on the left side with only the photo there. So I made a border onto the left side, using paper stripes and some die cut or fussy cut flowers and leaves. I also added machine stitching.

I matted my photo with some patterned papers from the same collection, and started to decorate my page. I added some more flowers and leaves around my photo and under the cut file.

Finally I added some phrase stickers, fussy cut butterflies and a paper rose from the embellishment kit of the Daydream collection. And the title and some journalling is a must-have too.

I really love how it turned out. Have you made something with this cut file? Show us in the CUT to YOU Facebook group! And go and grab some new cut files from the October Release, there are so many great cut files again, Gwen is making wonders! ๐Ÿ˜‰

My Fave Story | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends Rachel here! Today I have a fur baby love layout to share using the gorgeous Bow Cluster cut file.

I sized the Bow Cluster cut file as large as I could go on a 12×12 cutting mat. I used a beautiful floral paper to paper back the bows and add the bow centre with foam tape to add dimension. I have used a mixed media background paper (I have used Pinkfresh Studio Celebrate collection) to provide a contrast. This page builder cut file is perfect to add visual interest and layers to your layout.

I chose where I was going to add my photo but before adhering I created two floral bunches on either side of my photo. I then used foam tape to add my photo to create more height.

I then created an embellishment cluster that would also be my title under my photo.

I added some die cut butterflies over the floral bunches with foam tape so they didn’t get lost or appear flat on my layout.

I found a super cute wood dog embellishment in my stash and just had to add it even!

This layout is so pretty you could use many types of photos/themes, but my fur baby turned seven this week and I was a little nostalgic and found this puppy photo to scrap.

You will find this cut file in the shop now along with so many other gorgeous cut files!

Thanks for stopping by today and see you again soon.

Happy Together | Our Story Cut File | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY friends Rachel here! Today I am sharing a layout featuring the Our Story cut file.

I love this cut file with the gorgeous book and title. I have used Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet collection. I chose a background paper and splattered some gold lightly over it. I then cut my title in a blue and the book in a cream. I decided to use two patterned papers for the pages.

So my pages appear to be slightly ‘up’ I did not adhere the top of the pages (cream cardstock) this way they have a natural curve up. I added a sentiment sticker with foam tape to add height on the left side of the pages. Next I added my photo.

I added my photo (of me with my tribe) with foam tape and tucked a flower under the frame. Then it was about adding those smaller details that pull a layout together. I added two flower die cuts to the top of my page, layered and the top one with foam tape. I added tiny flowers over my title, a phrase sentiment over the heart and an adorable bunny!

Here are some more photos of the book part of the cut file:

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you in some way! Head over to the Cut to You shop!

Fishing in Paradise | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hi there, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. I am very busy nowadays as school has started again, and have to organise and take care of everything. It was so good to have some time at my desk and re-live the summer memories at the Lake Balaton. My hubby loves fishing, and he succeeded in sharing his passion. My daughter couldn’t wait the time to get to the lake and use her fishing-rod. She and her little friend had caught some ablets ๐Ÿ˜€

I was very happy to see the Fishnet Banner cut file among the September Release! Although we didn’t have the chance to go abroad this summer and there are no starfish in the Lake Balaton, I think it makes a great background for my layout ๐Ÿ™‚

For this layout I used several different collections from my stash. First I cut the Fishnet Banner cut file from smooth white cardstock and backed the starfish with some yellow patterned paper from the Summer Lights collection of Pink Paislee. I glued it on the Sunshine paper from the Gather collection by Maggie Holmes.

Then I cut two hibiscus flowers from smooth white cardstock as well. If you have already signed up to the CUT to YOU newsletter, you have got this beautiful cut file on the 1st September for free! Isn’t it worth to join us? Gwen is so generous that she even gives two cut file freebies a month! And all of them are so beautiful and have good quality as this Hibiscus Cut File is:

I backed the Hibiscus Cut File with some patterned papers from the Confetti Wishes collection by Pink Paislee and the leaves from the Summer Lights.

As my daughter is looking to the left on the photo, I decided to place my photo on the right and arranged everything diagonally.

I made 2 clusters using the two Hibiscus cut files, I added some die cut palm and monsterra leaves to the flowers.

I also fussy cut some hibiscus flowers from the No. 05 paper of the Confetti Wishes collection, and added it above and under the title.

I love the summer-feeling of this layout! Go to the shop and grab some new cut files and get crafty today! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sunshine, Rainbows and Happy Days | Rachel Lowe

Hello CTY friends! For those who know me know I LOVE rainbows and just had to use this new release oneย Sunshine Rainbows cut file

IMG_8910

I have used the new collection by Amy Tangerine Picnic in the Park.ย fullsizeoutput_56c1As I knew I would be using bright and bold colours/patterns I cut in white cardstock. I used white glitter on the words that would remain white, it shows beautifully in real life (not so good in my photos), also adding some dimension and texture. Next I chose my four rainbow pieces keeping it fun and vibrant. Once I adhered these to my white cardstock I added machine stitching using a turquoise coloured thread.Untitled-4

Untitled-5I added a foam sticker rainbow from the collection to finish off my rainbow. I next added my photo (that sweet treat is worthy of being scrapped!!!) using a bright coloured mat which I used foam tape to adhere so I could tuck elements under and over my rainbow and photos.Untitled-6I added embellishments around the phrase of this cut file to draw your eye.Untitled-7

Untitled-15Some of the letters I added with foam tape and others I left flat, this certainly adds visual interest and keeps your layout from appearing ‘flat’.

This cut file is the complete package, a beautiful rainbow and layout title all in one! ย To see all the other August new release head to theย Cut to You shop

Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.
