Sunshine, Rainbows and Happy Days | Rachel Lowe

Hello CTY friends! For those who know me know I LOVE rainbows and just had to use this new release one Sunshine Rainbows cut file

I have used the new collection by Amy Tangerine Picnic in the Park. fullsizeoutput_56c1As I knew I would be using bright and bold colours/patterns I cut in white cardstock. I used white glitter on the words that would remain white, it shows beautifully in real life (not so good in my photos), also adding some dimension and texture. Next I chose my four rainbow pieces keeping it fun and vibrant. Once I adhered these to my white cardstock I added machine stitching using a turquoise coloured thread.Untitled-4

Untitled-5I added a foam sticker rainbow from the collection to finish off my rainbow. I next added my photo (that sweet treat is worthy of being scrapped!!!) using a bright coloured mat which I used foam tape to adhere so I could tuck elements under and over my rainbow and photos.Untitled-6I added embellishments around the phrase of this cut file to draw your eye.Untitled-7

Untitled-15Some of the letters I added with foam tape and others I left flat, this certainly adds visual interest and keeps your layout from appearing ‘flat’.

This cut file is the complete package, a beautiful rainbow and layout title all in one!  To see all the other August new release head to the Cut to You shop

Thank you for stopping by and see you again soon.

Be You | Rachel Lowe

Hello Cut to You crafty friends! Today I have a layout featuring the gorgeous new floral cut file Floral Banner 2.

I have used Amy Tangerine Slice of Life collection.

For the banner part of this cut file I used vellum to paper back it (I created two layers as I wanted to fill with sequins) I added machine stitching around the border of the banner leaving a small section open, then filled with sequins and finished sewing up the last part so my sequins would not escape!

I then set about paper piecing the flowers choosing to colour ways for the florals, pink and yellow (again I used the Release Compound function (Silhouette Cameo) to cut out the petals) and a darker green for the leaves.

Once I had finished creating the floral banner I attached it to a 10×10 inch white cardstock piece roughly in the centre. I chose a floral paper for my border paper loving the contrast effect.

Then for the fun part, embellishing! I added die cuts of fav things in my life, layering for visual interest and flowing them in the same manner of the banner.

I added die cut words for my title and sub title.

Lots of florals and lots of embellishments finished off with a little sequin bling! This really is such a gorgeous cut file.

Thank you for stopping by today, wishing you all a wonderful creative week!
