Easter Sunday | Easter Egg with Bow Cut File | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I am back with you today to share a new Design Team project with you.

I realised that I have about 3 years of Easter documenting to catch up on, and the March release from CUT to YOU, which was full of gorgeous Easter themed files, was just the push I needed to get started on getting some stories documented.⁣
⁣
I used the Easter Egg with Bow file to create this layout documenting my son’s first Easter all the way back in 2018.⁣

Love, Documented | Daffodil Corner Cut File | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I am back with you today to share my second project for the Design Team this month. For this project I was challenged to create a layout using a floral cut file – totally my jam! And when the DT received the new cut files for March, I was so inspired by the Daffodil Corner Cut File that I had a completed layout in my hands within just a couple of hours!

First Day | Onward and Upward Cut File | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends!

I am happy to be with you again to share my latest design team project. As I scrolled through all the amazing designs available in the CUT to YOU store, my eye was drawn to the Onward and Upward Cut File. I thought it would be perfect to document my son’s first day at his Early Learning Centre.

I just love the symbolism of the increasing bar graph representing his journey out into the world of learning. And I had so much fun playing with some bright and bold colours to create the layout.

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my project. I hope you have a great day!

You and Me | Valentine | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends!

I am delighted to be sharing another design team project with you today. This time around I have used one of the fabulous files from KIT to YOU. This month I have been challenged with creating a layout using a cut file cut from black cardstock and I wanted to try creating something different with the Valentine Cut File and Kit from what Gwen has put together in the kit instructions.

May You Fly | Stacked Butterflies | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends!

I am delighted to be sharing another design team project with you today. This month we have a fantastic collaboration with Spiegelmom Scraps using their new Fab Foils product.

I had great fun creating this layout using the Stacked Butterflies cut file using the gold Fab Foils from Spiegelmom Scraps.

Together | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends!

I am absolutely delighted to be sharing my latest project with you today. I used the absolutely stunning Vintage Peony Cut File to create my layout. But for something really different, I turned this gorgeous cut file into a stitching template and hand stitched the most beautiful floral background for my page.

Our Sweet Little Family | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I am delighted to be here with you for another term with the CUT to YOU Design Team. Today I am sharing with you how I created this sweet little layout.

Late last year we had a little family photo shoot with a local photographer and got some truly gorgeous snapshots of our family from it. I knew that the Our Sweet Little Family Cut File would be perfect to document this photo of us all together.

I started off backing the cut file with some coordinating patterned papers. One of the patterned papers had a gold foil polka dot so I really played on that element by backing a few of the hearts with a gold foil paper. I love how shiny and beautiful it looked.

I created some soft and simple layers behind my photo with patterned papers from the same collection. My photo was adhered directly to the background with the cut file on some foam adhesive, layered slightly over the top of the photo.

Working with a diagonal design, I kept my embellishing pretty simple. I used some large floral elements fussy cut from a patterned paper, and a few sweet little coordinating die cut pieces to create small clusters that draws the eye from the top left down to the bottom right of the page. My short and sweet journalling slotted in perfectly just below my photo, reinforcing the diagonal flow of my layout design.

To finish off I added some Nuvo drops scattered around the page and some controlled splattering of gold ink to tie in the gold foil used to back the cut file.

If you’d like to see how this layout came together in more detail, I’d love for you to head over to my YouTube video and let me know what you think.

Sweet Christmas Memories | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I hope you are all well and happy this Christmas Eve.

I am so happy to be with you today to share my final project for this month, and this year. Once again I’ve been delving into my stash of Christmas supplies to document some of my memories from past years.

For this project I used the Poinsettia Wreath Cut File. Although this cut file comes with two halves of a wreath, I decided to use just the bottom half.

I really wanted to play with some watercolour techniques for this layout and honestly, I just had so much fun with it. I created a base for my backed cut file using three different coloured inks which I watered down and very roughly sploshed around where I knew the cut file would sit.

And to fill in the top half of the wreath I had so much fun creating some painted watercolour foliage. This was such a simple but effective technique and I am so in love with the finished product.

I kept the remainder of my layout fairly simple. I chose three coordinating alphabet stickers for my title. I added some watercolour splatters around the wreath and used some of the gold foil stars that came with the alphabet stickers I used.

To finish the layout I tucked some additional bits of foliage that I die cut from coordinating patterned papers in and around my wreath cut file. And of course added a sprinkling of Nuvo drops for that sweet little finishing touch.

If you’d like to see how I created this layout in more detail I would love for you to take a look at my process video which is linked below.

Thank you so much for joining me today and I wish you a very Merry Christmas!

Christmas Cutie Pie | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I’m so happy to be sharing another project with you today. I dove back into my stash to create this layout to document some photos of my little girl on her first Christmas Day.

I wanted to use the Holly Background Cut File to create a background feature for my page.

I backed the file coordinated patterned papers, then adhered it to a bold gold foil striped vellum. I machine stitched around the edge before adhering it to my white cardstock background.

After matting my photo strip onto patterned paper, I added a really soft layer of gathered tissue paper to help offset the boldness of the background.

I kept things pretty simple for the rest of the layout. My title “Christmas Cutie Pie” used two different font stickers from my stash. And my journalling (if you can call it that!) was just a sticker that read “Christmas Day” and the year.

I finished my layout by creating a couple of small clusters of embellishments nestled around my photo. And popped a little Santa hat die cut onto my daughters head in one of the photos for a SUPER cute little festive detail.

If you’d like to see this layout come together in more detail I’d love for you to watch my process video linked below.

Happy creating and I hope you have a great day!

Just Perfect | Belinda Jane

Hello beautiful friends! I am happy to be back to share another project with you today. I wanted to create a quick, sweet and simple layout to get my creative juices flowing again after a bit of a crafty hiatus.

I had taken some gorgeous photos of my kids playing out the front a couple of months ago and was inspired to scrap one of them. The Rose Bud Background cut file stood out to me for its sweet simplicity. I cut it from glitter cardstock just to add a bit of sparkle to the layout.

After backing the cut file I added a little bit of water colour and splatters to my white background, once again keeping it pretty simple. I backed my photo with a few off-centre layers using coordinating patterned papers and distressing the edges for some extra texture.

I decided not to add any additional journalling to this page, but did include the date stamped on a label tucked in between the layers behind my photo. I used two complimentary alphas to create my title.

I also wanted to keep the embellishments quite simple and maintain focus on the photo. The collection I used had lots of florals which I fussy cut out and used to create small clusters at the top left and bottom right of my photo.

And of course as usual I finished off with a scattering of Nuvo drops to finish off my little clusters. If you want to see this layout come together in more detail I would love for you check out my process video.

Thank you so much and I hope you have a great day!
