It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am here to share a sweet layout featuring the gorgeous Book Lover cut file. The Book Lover cut file set has lots of elements making it excellent value for money! For this layout, I chose to use only the Just One More Chapter title.
I cut the title from white cardstock and then backed it with a pretty pink paper. I knew I was going to use the yellow patterned paper as a background so I needed a contrasting colour to make the title stand out from the background. Once the cut file was all backed, I added craft foam underneath the cut file and adhered it to the yellow background. You can see in the close up photo below the dimension and shadows this creates.
As the title cut file design is heavy on the right side, the left side was the perfect place to add the sweet photo of my sister and her daughters reading a book together. It also worked well that my photo was in landscape orientation, it fit perfectly next to the title. I did overlap part of the title onto the photo so that everything flowed altogether.
On the right hand side of the cut file, I placed some chipboard pieces that are books and also the die-cut piece reading, ‘Books and More Books’. I couldn’t add too much to this side as the design of my page travels right across the page from left to right. Small embellishments are perfect to help tell the story and enhance the design. I also added a few things on top and below the cut file to add some more subtle detail and interest.
I love how my layout turned out and hope you enjoyed it too?! Make sure to check out the CUT to YOU online store for amazing cut file designs for all your projects! Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Monday Creatives! Gwen on the blog today to introduce you to the very creative Belinda Jane! She is guest designing for us this month and I know you will just love the projects she has made.
Hi everyone! I am so excited to be sharing the first of my two guest designer projects for the month of September.
I was immediately drawn to this ‘Book Stack‘ cut file in the Cut to You shop and knew that I wanted to use it to document my ongoing love affair with books. I chose to use a single photo of the stack of books that I currently have sitting on my bedside table.I used a simple grey patterned paper for my cut file and backed it with a selection of papers from a 6×8 paper pad in my stash. I used a text-based paper for the ‘pages’ of each book just to reinforce the book theme. For my background, I trimmed down some plain white cardstock and matted it onto a pink chevron patterned paper. I added some stitching to the frame using my sewing machine, which is one of my favourite ways of adding texture to a layout.I used the same pink chevron paper to mat my photo along with some white tissue paper. I also added a pretty little white trim to the bottom my photo layers. To bring the layout together, I layered a couple of paper doilies behind my cut file and photo. I just love trying to include as many different textures as I can into a layout. To finish it all off, I used a combination of gold foil Thickers and some die-cut letters for my title. My journaling was typed onto vellum and then cut down into strips before adhering to the layout. I used some die-cut bows cut from papers matching the backing on my cut file and used these, along with some embellishments from my stash, to finish off my layout.I love how soft and pretty this layout turned out. And of course, all those beautiful textures.
