Happy New Year! I am so excited to be here with you sharing my first layout for the Cut To You Design Team. I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and are still enjoying their time with their families and friends.
As soon as I saw the Christmas Wishes cut file I knew I had to use it to scrap our Christmas photo card. I decided to use the red paper to back up the whole cut file title because I wanted it to pop against the black and white star paper.
Here is the link to the Christmas Wishes Title Cut file that I used on my layout. There are so many terrific Christmas cut files in the shop it was hard to choose which one I wanted to use for this photo.
I decided to add my journaling to the title too, which I thought was something fun and different. I typed up the Christmas saying that I thought went well with the title cut file and the photo and added two enamel dots to the strip of paper. I added foam tape to the back of my cut file title to add some dimension to the layout. I then used the penguin and ornament die cuts to decorate the title. I also added heart card stock stickers to the middle of the letters R and A.
I hope you enjoy the layout and that it brings a smile to your face. I wish everyone a happy and healthy 2021!
Happy Holidays, Friends! I have a fun & festive layout to share with you today using the Bauble Trio cut file.
I cut the file on some cream textured cardstock and backed them with papers from an older Christmas collection by Echo Park, simpy called Christmas. I included stitching from the top of the page to make it appear that the ornaments are hanging. I used sprigs of pine boughs, paper poinsettia flowers and gems to further embellish the baubles. I love how this page came together. It really gets me in the Christmas spirit just looking at it!
Can you believe it, Christmas is nearly here!! I hope you all got in and grabbed our free 12 days of Christmas Cut Files earlier this month! So great! There are also heaps of new release Christmas files in the shop, so make sure you pop over and check them out!
Today I’m sharing a page I created using the Happy Christmas Circle Cut File. I didn’t make any adjustments to this file, just cut it as is out of white card stock.
I picked about 8 coordinating patterned papers and cut them into small rectangles, which I then used to back each letter. I didn’t really have any rhyme or reason here, I just was mindful not to have the same pattern too close together.
I popped the whole piece of white cardstock up on foam tape before backing with patterned paper to create a border.
I anchored my photos, title and embellishments mostly to one quadrant, clustering them together tightly so as to not cover too much of the file. I balanced this off with a few sprinkles of embellishments in the opposite corner.
This was such a simple but striking page to put together, and I’m really happy with how it came out.
I hope you have a happy and joyous Christmas season coming up with your loved ones! I can’t wait to share with you again in the new year!
Hi CTY friends well today is my last DT share as I am stepping down. I have loved my time on the CTY design team and sharing my layouts with you for the last 18 months. I have created another Christmas layout using the https://createdbygwen.com.au/product/tree-in-a-jar-cut-file/ cut file again but this time I super sized it!
Well that’s it from me, wishing you all a happy, safe and blessed Christmas and many 2021 pay us back for all the hardships are have all been through.
Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. We are already after the 3rd Sunday of Advent, and during advent-time we like to organise some special activities, like going to Christmas concerts, watching the Nutcracker ballett, visiting Christmas markets, drinking some mulled wine, eating chimney cake… But this year is different, all of the above have been cancelled… 😦 So I revisit those memories in my scraproom.
I chose the wonderful Holly Background cut file as a base of my layout. I cut it from white cardstock and started to back it with some patterned papers of the Muérdago collection of Mintopía.
When it was dry, I glued the cut file on the white background, and as I found it was too pale, I cut the edges and added a darker border.
Then I cut some poinsettias with my Sizzix, and added them to the cut file.
I finally added the title and some gold leaf and pine stickers to the flowers.
I hope you are all going to have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones, and will have some time for creating too! For having great basics to start, visit the CUT to YOU shop for some beautiful Christmas cut files! 😉
It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new Christmas themed layout featuring the awesome Christmas Joy cut file.
I cut the entire design out from white cardstock and then backed the design with a red patterned paper to help it pop. While I was backing the cut file design, I decided to cut it down so that only half of the cut file would be used.
I adhered the cut file to the bottom half of the plain white cardstock background using craft foam to lift it up from the background. Above the cut file design, I adhered my photo also using craft foam. I layered a grey coloured paper doily and a tag here also. On the right of my photo, I added another smaller tag. I trimmed down the white cardstock and then placed some phrases top and bottom. I then backed the entire white cardstock background to a black patterned paper from the Christmas collection I chose for this layout.
You can see in the detail photos the shadows created on the page by using craft foam underneath the cut file. I love how this looks and gives lots of dimension. I included some embellishments on top of the cut file design, including the super cute wood veneer reindeer with the enamel dot red nose, some more enamel dots in various colours, a wood veneer star, a black fabric bow and 2 gorgeous flair buttons that matched the theme and colours perfectly and some phrase die-cuts.
I love title cut file designs like the Christmas Joy one as they take all the guess work out of choosing a title and because they take up lots of room on the page, you only have so many choices where to add your photo and embellishments which in my opinion makes creating quicker!
Hey everyone, it’s Melinda here with you for today’s blog post! I have this super fun Christmas page to share featuring a 2019 photo.
This page features the very awesome “Star Light, Star Bright” cut file which has been embossed with gold glitter embossing powder. And I just love how it turned out!
I said it recently in another post, but in case you didn’t know, stars are totally my jam. My fave!! So as I flipped through my photos and came across this one. I knew straight away that I just HAD to cut it AND that it simply HAD to be gold!
By happy accident my boy is wearing a teal-ish coloured shirt which, for me, is part of a perfect Christmas colour combo – red/teal/white/gold and in this case, silver too ;), so I totally embraced that and created a messy mixed media background with lots of different Lindy’s products.
Oh, and with teal in my colour scheme I simply had to include these gorgeous X and O Charms Creations!!!
I, of course, have a process video for which is below! Grab a cuppa, sit back and I do hope you enjoy!
I’ll leave with you a few close up shots!!
I hope that you have enjoyed my share today and that maybe I have inspired you to use a more non-traditional colour scheme for some Christmas pages 😉 Make sure to head over here to the shop if you are looking for all of the stunning Christmas designs and make sure you have signed up here to the newsletter. It may be very worth your while to keep up to date with the CUT to YOU happenings 😉
Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. Have you seen the many more and more beautiful Christmas cut files in the CUT to YOU shop? Whether you are documenting a previous memory or preparing for your December Daily album, these cut files will be perfect for you! 😉
As December is coming closer, I like to scrap Christmas photos. This one is from last year, was taken on Christmas Eve, which we usually spend just the three of us. In Hungary we decorate the tree on this day, and the presents are under the tree. It is not Santa who brings gifts on Christmas Eve (because he brings some sweets to the good children on the 6th December), but the Little Jesus or the angels, as the faith of the family it requires.
I wanted to sneak in one more Christmas share before Christmas becomes a distant memory … and I’ll hope you’ll forgive me because it’s a good one!! It’s my first December Daily (ish)!!
Now, I’m not a big Christmas documenter, and I’m also not great at keeping up with daily things, but after what had been a pretty rough 2019, I needed something to get me in the spirit. A few ideas came together for me, including a mini album I had seen Sue Plumb put together here, and the Photo A Day challenge that I found here, and I combined these to come up with my format. I also didn’t pressure myself to take photos or create layouts daily, and the result was…I actually got it done!!
Now the reason I’m here to share this with you at CUT to YOU is because I used a heap of our Cut Files in the mini album, and I used them in several different ways!
Ahh I love this little guy!! The CUT to YOU gingerbread man. He’s a fave! And I think he looks super cute here as a page divider! I cut him out quite small, and backed him with various papers, including Kraft cardstock for his body, and simply punched a hole in his hand so he could slot into the album. Isn’t he the cutest!?!
Next up I have used the Holly Jolly Christmas Cut File to create a stand alone page. The prompt for this day was ‘red & white’ and I didn’t really have anything, so I thought it was a really good option to make this Cut File a feature using R&W paper for my background.
I have used the Merry Everything Cut File to again created a page divider. I cut this out in white card stock, and then coloured it with a red Sharpie. I have backed it with a kraft cardstock paper, so that it was solid enough to handle being flipped back and forth. Fun!
I have use the gorgeous Candy Cane Cut File to create another feature page. This one is a bit of a spacer to allow for a double page spread on the other side. I used a piece of red patterned paper for the candy cane section, and then used some silver washi tape for the bow.
I have also used the TN Christmas Tree Quad Cut File on two seperate pages. I have cut them into seperate trees, and for the first layout I’ve backed the file with patterned paper and washi and adhered to my page.
On the second page, I have coloured the Cut File with black Posca Pen, and have then simply slid it on to the rings in my album to create a little page divider.
I have created a little bit of a flip through, which I have shared over on my Instagram, pop on over if you want to check it out.
Thanks for stopping by again today, I look forward to sharing again with you next month!
Hello to all of you lovely scrappy CUT to YOU friends and thanks for joining me on the blog for my first post for 2020!! I’m really excited to share my page with you today!
I have used the “Family is Forever” cut file for this page and used it as the main feature and oh boy, do I love how this came together!
I wanted to jazz up my cutfile and since plan a didn’t work (epic fail thanks to user error lol) I got messy!
I’ve cut the title on smooth white cardstock and then added a quick, not perfectly applied coat of gold water colour paint. (I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi #91). Once the water colour was completely dry I added some of the super fun and sparkly Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Golden Crystal with a paint brush and then my finger right on top of the gold water colour. The paste adds so much sparkle and texture and I just love how it looks IRL!
When that was completely dry I backed all of the letters with some pattern papers from the Kringle & Co collection by Photoplay Paper and then popped the whole title up on some foam.
The 2 photos on this layout are from Christmas morning and are our annual Christmas Family photos. It’s funny, after forgetting to get someone else to take a family photo on Christmas Day a couple of years running it’s now become tradition to take a family selfie after presents and everyone is dressed so that way I get at least one photo!! And I love this years ones!
With my main elements decided and ready to go I quickly added a couple of fun layers to my grey cardstock background. Next I added some gold stitching to the card stock and also my photos and then mounted that all onto another of the papers from this collection.
The only additional embellishments I added were the Candy Cane by Annabellish and the little row of hearts I had in a bowl on my desk. I added in a couple of quick sentences for my journalling and my page was done!
If you’d like to see my whole process just hit play on the video below and I do hope you enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing you are safe and that you can squeeze in a little crafty time for you! Until next time, happy scrapping!
