12 Days of Christmas Giveaway – Happy Christmas Day 8

Hi!

Welcome to DAY 8 of our 12 days of Christmas GIVEAWAY!

Tam here today and I’m here to share with you a page I’ve created using the Happy Christmas Cut File, which is available for free download today (08/12/19) and then for purchase from our Christmas collection after that.

I decided to use the PhotoPlay collection called ‘Kringle & Co’ to back the file, pulling out a piece of red patterned paper. Using one sheet of paper, I glued the Cut File down and then trimmed around each of the letters using my scissors and craft knife. I then mounted the whole file on foam tape and then secured it to my page.

I tucked my photos behind and in front of ‘Happy’, careful not to cover too much of my photo or the file. I then added in a few embellishments, including one of my fav B&W Crate Paper bows.

Once I had finished embellishing the page, I realised I needed to include some of the Buffalo Plaid paper into my title, so traced the inside pieces of some of the letters and then popped these inside the Cut File. Love the pop this gives!

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway – Tree Duo Day 7

Hi creatives!

Marie with you on the blog today. Welcome to day 7 of the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY which is another chance to grab a beautiful CUT to YOU cutfile for FREE!

And here’s today’s cutfile which you will find here:

And here’s my layout:

I started by cutting the cutfile twice as I wanted to overlap the trees to make it look more like a forest to fit with the theme of the layout. I wanted to document the trip we took to choose and cut down a Christmas tree for our new house!

I backed the trees using papers from the Crate Paper Snowflake collection which is also where the navy background paper is from.

I added the title ‘Family Time’ using a perspective from Bramble Fox and puffy letters from the Home for the Holidays collection from Pinkfresh.

I added some cute little cardstock stickers around the page, again from the Pinkfresh collection, and ripped a small section from the top and bottom of the page to add a few scraps of paper peeking out.

The final touch was to add some white splatters using watered down acrylic paint. You will find a process video here if you’d like to see how it all came together:

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway – TN Christmas Tree Quad Day 5

Hello lovely CTY friends,

Tamara here and I’m super excited to be sharing on day 5 of our 12 days (5/12/19) of Christmas GIVEAWAY!

Today I’m working with the TN Christmas Tree Quad Cut File – but from there I went a little sideways … and did a 12×12 layout and ran the Christmas trees in a straight line 🤷‍♀️😂

I have used the Cut File mostly as a layering piece for this layout. I love how this works on a page – giving a little separation from the background, a place to ground embellishments and a little bit of extra interest.

I had actually planned on keeping the Christmas Trees white, but the contrast was a little strong, so I have coloured them using a red Sharpie.

I simply used my scissors to separate the top rows of trees from the bottom, and where this made the Cut File a little wonky, I have tucked those parts of the trees behind things.

I only used a little bit of wet glue in the centre of the Christmas Trees so that they curled up on the edges, giving that interest and extra texture that I love on a page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today to check out my layout, and don’t forget to grab yourself this Cut File for free over in the CUT to YOU store. You are looking for the Christmas Tree Quad Cut File in our Christmas Shop.

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway – Snowflake Day 4

Hello and welcome to DAY 4 of our 12 days of Christmas GIVEAWAY!

It’s Michelle here today to share with you a page I’ve created using the Snowflake Cut File, which is available for free download today (04/12/19) and then for purchase from our Christmas collection after that.

I’ve used the Winter wonderland collection by Heidi Swapp to create this layout as I just love the colours and felt they worked well with the design of layout I was wanting to create. I resized the snowflake design within silhouette studio to 4 different sizes. 1 large piece to layer behind the photo stack and 3 individual snowflakes to ‘hang’ from the top left corner of the layout – to replicate the snowflakes our Elf created last year.

To begin the layout I cut the white cardstock down slightly and adhered to the red pattern paper then got to work creating the large photo stack. I used the larger snowflake as the base and layered a couple of pattern papers under the photos with some ephemera popping out here and there. I added some ribbon to the top of the tag and my title to the top of the photo using puffy letters and an ephemera word.

Next I adhered the smaller snowflakes to the top corner using glue dots, then added twine to each to make them look like they were hanging from the top of the layout. I added a few plain and snowflake sequins within this cluster along with a few ephemera pieces and a splattering of gold colour shine to finish it off

12 Days of Christmas Giveaway – Candy Circles Day 3

Hello my creative friends and a big welcome to day 3 of our 12 Days Of Christmas Giveaway!

Today’s freebie is this fun Candy Circles cut file!

Melinda is sharing inspiration for us today.

After trying a couple of ideas that I didn’t love (hello recycling bin!) I decided to cut this file on textured white cardstock big enough so I could have it as the base layer behind a slightly smaller than 4″x 6″ photo.

For some reason, I have been on a “add a pattern paper border” kick with my pages of late so I trimmed down my marshmallow cardstock and chose a pattern paper to mount behind. I did also add a machine stitched black border all the way around the cardstock and also the photo. I think hanging around Gwen at retreat last month rubbed off lol

I was in a “get messy in Christmas colours” mood so I grabbed some paints and my trimmed cardstock. Straight away I knew I wanted my main colour to be red (I seriously LOVE a real Christmas red in all my Christmas projects!) so used that as my base layer and added lots of splatters in red, green, black and gold.

While that dried I added a paper layer behind my photo using the PhotoPlay “Kringle & co” collection, some tissue paper and also popped my photo up on some foam.

Time to see how it all looks together! I was loving the direction the page was going but felt the cut file was getting a little lost. My solution was some shimmery white water colour paints from my stash which I just painted straight over the file and then added some splatters while it was still wet. Then I added the same splatters to my messy background.

It’s really tricky to pick up the shimmer on camera but it was exactly what this page needed to make that cut file pop! When I adhered the cut file I added wet glue to only the centre of each of the circles which gave the cut file lift and created shadows.

From here on out I added 2 clusters to the page – one to the top left of the photo which includes the title; and one to the bottom right. I’ve added in a couple of charms from Charms Creations and finished off the page with some gold and green stars. And tiny black splatters!

I do have a process video for you today, just click below to play! I hope you enjoy and it inspires you to get your Christmas on!

Christmas Tags | Christmas Stocking | Rachel Lowe

Hey crafty friends Rachel here again! I love making gift bags, boxes and tags, I love even more giving them and knowing others really appreciate the fact you made them! Today I have some gift tags to share with you. I have used the Christmas Stocking cut file.

IMG_1928

The great thing about tags is that you can use up all the bits and pieces from various collections. I have used a mix of PinkFresh Studio Christmas collections 2018 and 2019.7E80C3B4-CEB9-40D5-B535-E49569367684I measured what size I wanted my tags to go with my gift bags and pillow boxes and cut accordingly in white. So it was easier to paper piece them I used the trace function and cut the outline (Silhouette Cameo), this way you also have a neat reverse side to write your message on the reverse of the tag.fullsizeoutput_48f0I chose two main colours for the stocking, a traditional Christmas red and a non traditional blue. I am not a huge fan of bling or glitter but always use it at Christmas, I have used glitter flocked paper and star white & gold glitter.

Before I paper pieced, so I could use the paper loop at the top of the stocking cut file I cut off the white base cut. To paper piece I have used the ‘Release Compound’ function (Silhouette Cameo) which ensures your tag paper choses are precise and neat fullsizeoutput_4902Here I have attached the Christmas stocking to pillow boxes which will be filled with little treats. I used gold thread to attach to the pillow box wrapping it around several times and knotting at the back.7BA4ED33-F9BB-4730-B69B-AF9A764C4587These would also look fab on a Christmas card too! It is my fav part of Christmas creating gorgeous tags and gift bag/boxes and cut files such as this allow you to personalise your gift giving. Thank you for stopping by! See you again soon.

Oh What Fun | Michelle Stokes

Hello Crafty friends! It’s Michelle back here today with my 2nd share for November and boy am I excited about this one! I got myself into the Christmas spirit well and truly with this cut file and I absolutely LOVE how it all came together.

I’ve used the Christmas Tree Row from last months release after being inspired by a layout made by our one and only Boss Lady, Gwen. I increased the size of the design in Silhouette Studio and cut it out on white cardstock before cutting the design in half to layer under the photo I chose.

Our cheeky house Elf gave us a not so subtle hint to decorate the tree last year and Leila thought it was hilarious! I chose the collection I’ve used based solely on the colours from the photo, which are all very bright and christmasy.

I’ve used 6×6 papers from the Merry Little Christmas collection by Pebbles to back all the trees. I adhered the tree cluster to the left of the photo using foam tape, then did the same with the trees on the right. The photo is popped up slightly higher using a piece of foam sheet. I didn’t layer any more pattern papers under the photo as I felt it looked best without

I added gold and silver glitter paper to the stars on top of the trees, adhered with tiny staples, then layered a second star on top of the first to give them a little extra dimension

I kept the embellishing very simple with just a couple of ephemera pieces and a gold puffy letter title. The red HOHOHO strip was from the bottom of the candy stripe paper that I used to matt the white cardstock within the wash tapes layered bottom right of the photo are from the same collection.

Well thats all from me today. Short and sweet, but so much fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to pop into the CUT to YOU HQ to share the love of all things CTY and don’t forget to tag us on instagram when you’ve created with our files.

Until next time, happy scrapping
