Love This Moment | Melinda Sweetman

Hello scrappy friends and welcome to the CUT to YOU blog today. Melinda here with you today sharing another scrapbook layout I created using 2 cut files!

The first file I used is clearly very obvious, this gorgeous title “Love this Moment” which I have cut on smooth white card stock.

The second cut file, which is a little less obvious, is the fun “Book Stack Background” cut file which is part of my back ground design. To get this one onto my page I have used my foil quill in my Silhouette Cameo with some pink foil and oh boy, I love this so, so much!

With my main element already on my background I got straight into the messy stuff!! I have added lots of blues using mostly Distress Oxide Ink pads and the packaging technique. My white back ground has not had any treatment at all. With the design in the back ground being foiled it didn’t smudge or get covered over when I added all of the colour which is one of the reasons I chose to foil it!

My title was going to be pretty prominent on my page so wanted to make a feature of this also. This took a bit more effort and quiet a few coats of paint, water colours and gesso but I got there in the end lol I was trying to make as close a match to the flowers in the back ground of my photo as I could! Happy in the end!

I backed the word “this” and the hearts in the cut file with an ombre blue paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Midnight collection. The hearts looked super dark so I added some white gesso and then some darker blue paint to add sparkle and some difference in colour.

Upon going through my stash after my cut file was done I chose to work with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Wild at Heart” collection. I used some paper scraps for layers behind my photo, some ephemera pieces and a few stickers.

I’ve also tucked in 3 fussy cut butterflies around my page – one big one to the left of my title and then 2 smaller ones. These were added to both above and below the photo.

With my page almost complete I felt like it needed something around the edges but I wanted to do something different. I ended up tearing a small section into each side of the card stock background and then mounted my whole page onto another pattern paper from the same CVS collection. Finishing off by adding in a few staples to the torn and rolled sections of card stock.

My final touch was my journalling which I have added in grey pen right to the book below my title so it’s “in” the book! A very subtle detail but I think it’s a bit fun 😉 And, I have a process video for you below, just hit play and I hope you enjoy!

I really, really love how this page came together. That cut file foiled in the back ground is so so fun and something a little different! You could use this effect with SO many of the cut files available in the store! My first stop to explore will be the “Backgrounds” section – how fun!!

I hope you enjoyed my share today and it has sparked some creativity for you! Until next time, happy scrapping!!

Thankful | Michelle Stokes

Hello friends and followers, its Michelle S back here today with my second share for this month. Sadly this is also my final layout share as part of the CUT to YOU Design team as its time for me to say farewell for a while. I have loved every minute of being part of this wonderful team, and I thank each and everyone of you for all the love and inspiration you have given and shared along the way. I’m not good with goodbyes so let’s just move on to the layout sharing shall we?

For this layout I chose a NEW cutfile from the June 2020 release – Create Title. A fun large title style design that I had intentions of using for a title, but during the process of creating became a fun rainbow background.

Like most cutfile layouts I create I started by cutting the design out on white cardstock and backed it using a rainbow painted stripe paper from the Happiness Collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I adhered the entire cutfile design to the centre of some More white cardstock using some foam tape for dimension. I added an extra pop of colour around the edges of the layout by matting the white cardstock with the remnants of the rainbow paper used to cut the backing design out on, and sewed around the edges for a little extra texture.

The photo I chose to document is of my crafty space, one of my favourite places in our house and one that I’m very thankful to have. I’m extremely lucky to have a space all to my self and even though its big enough to share, its very rare that I need to.

By using the one pattern paper to back the cutfile I was able to save time by playing around with the design in silhouette studio to remove the centre pieces of each letter, leaving just the outlines. I regrouped them all together and cut the entire piece out On my cameo which is way easier than having to fussy cut each letter or word like I would normally do.

I did however do a little fussy cutting of some florals, cause I just cant help myself. I tucked these elements along with some ephemera pieces into the top of the photo and added some butterflies too.

Lastly I created a title using a cardstock word and some hand writing plus a mini cluster of elements to even out the layout. I also added a sprinkling of gold colour shine to finish it off.

Well friends that’s all from me today. Thank you so much for stopping by to see my last creation for CUT to YOU. Be sure to keep sharing your amazing inspiration within the CTY facebook group as I will still be popping in to see what you’re all creating.

Thanks for all the love, and as always…
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Love This Moment | Michelle Stokes

Hello Hello CTY friends! It’s Michelle S back here today with a new layout share featuring one of our sweet NEW cutfiles from the June 2020 release. After scrolling through photos recently I knew exactly which photo I needed to document using this beautiful title ‘Love this Moment’

Such a sweet moment quietly shared between my daughter Leila and Grandmother from Christmas a few years back. The two of them happily making ’afternoon tea’ while the rest of the family were all together outside, oblivious to the joy being created in this room.

To create the layout I started by enlarging the design in silhouette studio and cutting it out on white card stock. I wanted the layout to have a soft feminine feel so I’ve used a limited edition collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio that is full of florals and sweet water colour designs. I backed the hearts of the title using a pink polka dot pattern and the word ‘this’ using the same floral paper I used to back the entire layout with.

I added a strip of black spot paper under the words ‘enjoy the little things’ to finish off the title piece of the layout and then layered a piece of a blue pattern paper behind the photo to give it a little pop of colour.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum by fussy cutting floral bunches and layering them under the photo with the addition of some hearts and enamel glitter dots for a pop of sparkle.

Lastly I added some machine stitching randomly around the edge of the layout and a splattering of gold colour shine to finish it all off.

Well that’s all from me today, I hope you’ve enjoyed my creation today using the new ‘Love this Moment’ cutfile. Be sure to check the website for more NEW designs released recently.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Our Sweet Little Family | Michelle Stokes

Hello friends its Michelle S back here today with one final share for the month of May. I thought I’d make something family orientated for this post using the ‘Our Sweet Little Family‘ cut file from the March 2020 release. I chose a beautiful limited edition collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio to create this piece that can be framed and kept on display in an area of our house.

I cut the design out on white card stock twice, first the full design and second just the words themselves. I then adhered them both together so that when backed with the pattern paper the 2 layers of white gave the words a slight 3D effect.

This title is perfect for our sweet little family, hopefully it might suit yours too.

I kept the layers under the photo to a minimum as the background paper is quite busy, and you can see I left the hearts of the design open and adhered them with some clear dots.

Above the photo I’ve added a cluster of florals to compliment the background paper plus a couple glitter dots.

And also a few extra florals and glitter dots to the left of the photo to finish it off.

Well friends that’s all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by. I hope to see your creations with this cut file in the CUT to YOU Facebook group soon!

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

The Best Days | Tamara Buckler

Hey Guys,

I’m here today to share with you a layout featuring one of the awesome Cut Files from our Home Bodies collection.

I am really super proud of how positive we have kept the vibe over at Cut to You HQ, and I love that our Home Bodies range has really focussed on the good things that have come out of the difficult time that has been Covid 19.

I chose to scrap a photo of my daughters having a picnic in the park at the end of our street. We are very lucky to live in a small village, so my kids have been able to get around outside without too much worry. I have loved how this time together has shifted and changed their relationship, particularly as my youngest takes her first steps into tween-hood.

I have cut the Best Days Cut File from white card stock and backed it with a gorgeous coloured paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. I then popped it up on foam, and adhered it to my patterned paper layer, overlapping the bottom of my photo slightly.

I really love how bright and fun this layout turned out, and I really hope that down the track it reminds my girls that they did have some fun during the Covid lock down!

Hope you are all safe and well!

Big loves, Tam xo

Thankful for You | Marie Hirst

Hi everyone! I hope you have all had an amazing INSD weekend! It’s my turn on the blog today sharing this cute page!

This is Bella, our puppy. We got her in September last year for some company for me at home and that’s what inspired the title – I really am so thankful to have her. Dogs really can do wonders for our mental health!

I started with the Geo Triangle Cutfile which I cut from white Cardstock and then backed with a variety of the pink shades from the Happiness Collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

I left a couple of the triangles empty so that I could tuck some of the floral ephemera into them. I added foam tape to the back of the cutfile to add some dimension before sticking it on to a sheet of white cardstock.

I printed my photo 3×4 in black and white and added some more pink layers along with some of the navy hearts paper. I added foam to the back of the photo for even more dimension.

I added my title in the bottom right corner and then added lots of lovely ephemera pieces and a small cluster at the top left too.

I love how it turned out! You can find this cutfile and sooooooooo many more in the shop and be sure to sign up for the newsletter as Gwen sends out two free cutfiles each month!

Until next time scrappy friends,

Stay safe,

Marie x

You and Me | Michelle Stokes

Hello friends its Michelle S here today with a new layout share. I chose an older file from the shop ‘Love You and Me‘ the Happiness Collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and a sweet photo of Leila and I.

I played around with the You & Me design in Silhouette Studio to get the right size to overlap the wreath paper I wanted to use from the CVS Happiness Collection. I cut the design on white cardstock then used a couple of bright pattern papers to back the words, flowers and leaves.

I added come extra pattern paper to the photo stack and adhered this over the & using some foam tape to lift it off the cut file design. I also added a couple of stickers from the collection for an extra pop of colour in that area of the layout.

Originally I had planned to adhere the cut file directly onto the floral wreath pattern paper, but I felt it needed a little extra dimension to really make it pop off the page. Out came my scissors and I fussy cut 3/4 of the wreath from the paper and adhered that to more white cardstock that had been adhered and sewn to another large floral pattern paper from the same collection.

I gave the floral wreath a little extra height off the backing paper by using foam tape to adhere it, then layering the cut file over the top of this using more foam tape for an extra kick of dimension. Love love LOVE dimension on layouts.

Final touches were added using gold colour shine splattered here and there and a couple of glitter dots.

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

All The Love/Sara Scraps

Hello Everyone! Sara with you today creating with the beautiful, new Leaf Edge Cut File

I started by cutting the file extra big out of smooth white cardstock. I wanted to use the cut file as the main embellishment on my layout. By sizing it large, and tucking my photo into the leaves,I accomplished my design goal. I decided to pair the cut file and picture with Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s Midnight collection, and then I went to work making the cut file my own- my favorite part of the process!

I used Distress Oxide ink and Distress Glaze to give my cut file a smooth, ombre look and then backed each leaf with a different patterned paper. I adhered the leaves straight to the page and then used dimensional foam behind the leaves to pop them up.

I wanted to add some embellishments to my cut file to give it some sparkler/shine, and tiny details. I decided on some clusters of sequins, and then I added die cuts, phrase stickers, and some butterflies to round out my clusters and make the page pop! I love how these details make the cut file a statement piece on the layout while not taking over or overwhelming my photo! I loved using the die cut words in the collection to mix and match until I had the perfect title.

Remember- cut files can be flipped and sized and used anyway you choose, that’s the best part. Allowing your creativity to flow as you create with them! Be sure to take a peek at the store HERE and grab one of these fun cut files to create with!

You can also head over to my You Tube channel for a step by step video showing all the details of how I created my layout!

Have A Lovely Day!

Lovely Day @ The Lake | Tamara Buckler

Hey hey scrappy friends,

I’m back on the blog today to share a page with you that I created for the latest CSI Scrapbook Challenge – Case File 316.

I was inspired by the soft pastel colours and the contrast with the B&W on the inspiration piece as well as the shapes and title.

I have used the Circle of Love Cut File to create this page, cutting the file 3 times in 3 different sizes. I actually laid them one inside each other on my Silhouette software, and cut them from one piece of patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

I have laid the Cut Files around the page and cut them in half-ish to mimic the ‘hill’ shapes of the inspiration image. I backed each of the circles with different colours of patterned paper, again using the colours from the inspiration piece.

I created my title to reflect the font in the inspiration piece, and personalised it to reflect where we are in my picture.

I have colour blocked my clusters around each of the circles, repeating elements around the page like butterflies and hearts.

Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my layout. Make sure you have a go at the CSI challenges this month, as always CUT to YOU are a sponsor, and you could win a selection of our amazing files!!

Big Loves,

Tam xo
