Cousins & Best Friends | Tamara Buckler

Hey hey CTY friends,

I’m up on the blog today sharing my latest layout using the Cousins and Best Friends Cut File. This one is a bit of an oldie but goodie, and I’ve been itching to use it for ages because it’s perfect for my daughter and nephew.

I cut the file quite large using a dark blue patterned paper, and then cut the inside of the file out on my silhouette using a mint green patterned paper. Once I had these elements together, I decided I wanted to go with a dark cardstock background, which then posed the problem of the file getting a little lost 🙄

To overcome this, I used the offset function in Silhouette Studio to cut some white cardstock to frame the cut file. Unfortunately I didn’t realise I hadn’t done this on the inside of the file, but I decided not to let that stress me and just rolled with it.

Once I had glued all these elements together, I popped the whole file up on some old bits of cardboard. This gave me some dimension to the file as well as some room to tuck my photos under the top.

This page very busy, and there’s lots of large elements, including 3 photos of the kiddos, so I balanced this out with patterned paper at the top and bottom. I was also conscious to keep my embellishments to a minimum.

I love the way this page turned out, I reckon it does a great job of documenting my daughter and nephew’s special relationship (they are only 5 weeks apart in age and more like siblings!)

Thanks for stopping by today! I look forward to sharing with you again soon! Make sure you pop over to the shop to see all the new gooodies, especially the Christmas ones!!

Big Loves, Tam xo

Cousin Squad/Sara Scraps

Hello! Sara here with you today. I have a fun layout to share with you featuring the Cousin Squad cut file. I have been waiting to use this one for a while now! I am the oldest of 7 siblings so I have lots of cousin pages to do! This photo is special to me because it is the last time ALL my neices and nephews were together for a group picture.

I started with the title piece. I backed each letter with patterned paper. Then I used about 1001 foam squares to pop the title up.

I added florals onto the title to make it truly part of the layout. This allows the flowers to weave in and around both the photos and title seamlessly.

This layout is simple in design and execution but it packs a powerful, colorful punch! I love how all the colors pop off of the white cardstock! You can see all the details of this layout on my YouTube channel too! Id love to see you give this layout design a try.

White cardstock, an amazing title from the shop HERE, and and lots of pretty flowers are really all you need!

Have A Lovely Day!

Sara
