And So The Adventure Begins | Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone,

It’s Tarrah back with you on the CUT to YOU blog! Today I have a new layout to share inspired by the CSI Challenges case file no. #327. If you know me, you will know that I absolutely LOVE to travel. I have been very fortunate to have traveled a fair bit already so I have lots of memories to document.

Each month CUT to YOU sponsors the challenges over at CSI, there are always awesome prizes up for grabs so make sure you check all the case files out, I am sure you will find something to inspire you and get creating!

Case File No. 327

I was inspired by the travel theme and the colours of this case file. I chose to cut out the awesome ‘ADVENTURE BEGINS’ cut file from white cardstock first. I then backed the openings of the block letters in red cardstock. I then added craft foam underneath the entire cut file and adhered it down to the plain white cardstock background. As I was constructing my layout, you can see in my close up photo below that I decided to make the word ‘Begin’ stand out more so I inked the word in black ink. As this word has the washi tape underneath it, I am glad I chose to ink the word.

Title cut files like this one are great as they pretty much decide the design of your page for. As there was the space on the right of the title, this was the perfect place to add my photo and the layers under my photo. I used some red and black striped pockets for my layers and also a small Kraft envelope.

I added some travel wood veneer pieces including the globe one over the top of the ‘O’ in ‘So’. I also added a super cute red peg, a black arrow paper clip, a red resin star and a black and white fabric bow. On the right of my photo, I added a Charm’s handmade fabric star and layered a travel flair over the top of the star.

Lastly I added a few travel phrase stickers and a date tab at the top of the red and white stripe pocket at the top. I also trimmed down the white cardstock and framed the entire layout with a Kraft cardstock.

Summer Days | Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone, it’s Tarrah McLean back with you and today I am sharing a new layout featuring the awesome Summer Days cut file title and some of the cute elements from the Summer Page Builder cut file. My layout share today is inspired by CSI challenge Case No. 322. CUT to YOU is one of the sponsors for the CSI challenges, so why not join in to be in the running to win free cut files?!

CSI Case No. 322

CUT to YOU Summer Days title

I started out by cutting the Summer Days title and the Summer page builder cut file all from white cardstock, I then backed them all with some of the pretty papers from the Sunny Days collection by Crate Paper. Once they were all backed, I added foam adhesive to the bottom of them all. I chose a super cute photo of my nieces in the pink Summer gear, it was perfect for this page as the CSI inspiration photo has lots of pink. I adhered my photo in the centre of the white cardstock background with some paper layers underneath. This then allowed me to work out where my title and cloud and sun elements were going to go.

Summer Page Builder cut file

One of the other inspirations I took from the CSI inspiration image were the pieces of fruit, I just had to include the pieces of chipboard fruit to the right of my photo. I think they look really cute there! I love to layer elements over the top of the cut files, as you can see in the detail photo below, I have added some stickers to the Summer Days title. In the detail photo above I added a phrase sticker to one of the clouds and a cute flair button to the centre of the sun.

On the left side of my photo, I added a phrase die-cut with a tag tucked in and some cherry chipboard pieces, I like how these balance with the citrus fruit on the right hand side. Below the title I added a title sticker, a smaller sticker and a heart sticker too. As you can see in the detail photo below, you can see how the title popped up on foam adhesive creates some shadows and gives dimension. I love how this looks on my page. Lastly I stamped the date stamp, I trimmed down the white cardstock background and adhered the cardstock to one of the blue and white stripe patterned papers from the Sunny Days collection.

Thank you so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today, make sure to check out the CUT to YOU store for all the gorgeous cut file designs that you keep forever once you purchase them once! I hope you get the chance to join in one of the CSI challenges too!

Happy creating!

Oh Snap | Tamara Buckler

Hello scrappy friends,

I’m popping in quickly today to share with you my layout inspired by this month’s CSI Challenge. I have used the Oh Snap Title Cut File, which I have treated quite simply, but I think it’s turned out super sweet.

The CSI Case File Challenge (no. 318) was filled with little icons, lots of orange and a cute little fox. I paired this back a little and used more peachy tones, inspired by the sweetest Die Cut fox from my stash.

I cut the ‘Oh Snap’ file from white card stock and then coloured it with a Posca pen. I then backed both elements with white paper and popped them up on foam squares. Such an easy title option, and ready to go in just a few minutes!

To keep with the feel of the inspiration, image, I tucked lots of cute little elements around my title and my photo.

Thanks for stopping by today. Make sure you pop over to the CSI blog and have a go at their challenges. And if you looking for easy title options, jump over to the shop and have a look in the titles section.

Stay safe and well!

Big loves, Tam xo

HomeBodies Unite/Sara Scraps

Hello Everyone! Sara here with you today! I’m featuring one of the Home Bodies Collection cut files.

My layout was inspired by CSI Challenge Case File #318. Cut to You is one of the challenge blog’s sponsors and we have been having fun playing along with their inspiration pieces over the last few months.

Here is the case file that inspired my layout today-

With all those orange tones, I knew I wanted to use a nice, muted color palette but I also wanted to make my cut file POP! To accomplish that I added some mixed media behind the cut file. The mixed media allows the backed cut file to really be visible and set it off.

I paired my cut file with a photo of my youngest son cuddling his dog on the couch..perfect homebodies uniting for sure!

I love the fun clusters of embellishments I used to define the line between the mixed media and the photo. It gives the whole layout balence and allows the photo to stand against the orange mixed media. Overall, I think that this layout came together so well and I love the cozy feel I was able to create!

If you haven’t seen these fun cut files yet, be sure to take a peek at them in the Cut To You shop HERE!

I also have a process video to share – in case you want to add a bit of mixed media to the background of your next cut file!

Have A Lovely Day!

Live Life in Full Bloom | Rachel Lowe

Hello cut file crafty friends, today is all about florals and leaves in bloom! I have used the gorgeous new cut file Lots of Leaves Frames.

And here is what I created.

IMG_4849 I have used the new collection Bloom street by Paige Evans and hand made flowers (yes get your hand punches out and layer away!).fullsizeoutput_4ec6Instead of my go to white base paper I have used this gorgeous multi coloured striped paper as I joined in the great challenge over at CSI Challenge Blog.

IMG_4365

I cut the file at approximately 10×10 inches and then backed the lower frame and leaves in the same paper. I then added my photo to the top frame.

fullsizeoutput_5060This type of cut file makes it so easy to embellish in such an eye catching way.  I set about embellishing the bottom frame by adding my title, a die cut phrase, adding a layered flower and die cut butterfly. I went off centre for visual interest.D36B9D50-D77E-4B42-8E14-ECCF0A0F9EB9I added my layered flowers in amongst the leaves coming off the frames, this way they look like they are a part of the frame.74C39253-72E8-4587-A245-77D7E63B669DTo finish off I added some phrase sentiments and more flying beauties such as this lovely bird as well as the butterflies.Untitled-2This is a very ‘busy’ layout for me but I like it for a change of pace so to speak (back to white card stock tomorrow lol!).

Thank you as always for stopping by and more than ever in these challenging times how lucky are we to have such a hobby to fill our time at home.

Take care and stay safe.

LALA Love |Circle of Love | Rachel Lowe

Hi CTY crafty friends today I have a love themed layout using the gorgeous new cut file Circle of Love

IMG_3197

I have used Crate Paper Lala Love collection.Untitled-30I cut the Circle of Love cut file measuring 10.5×10.5 inches in white cardstock, I then added it to another piece of white cardstock measuring 11×11 inches.34F7DEBC-FD3E-40FB-885C-5F906CCBB853I then used the release compound function (Silhouette Cameo) and pulled out the hearts, I then divided them into two and cut using two different papers/patterns. I added each heart with foam tape to create a 3D effect. I  hand stitched the inner circle to add definition and texture. I added my photo off centre with foam tape.1B08B8AD-076D-4A84-890C-43F59D75823BI added rubber embellishments on my photo to draw your eye to it.83A37D4F-32C8-4A3A-8298-52B4DB7EA405I tucked under my photo a floral die cut to break up the white of the circle. I used a brighter coloured paper  to add my final page border, again to provide contrast against the white. I couldn’t resist adding this gorgeous tasselled heart to finish off!34EE8D5A-365A-4810-B3F2-E796EFA273F2This cut file is perfect for any Valentine layout or card!

Cool And Crisp/Sara Scraps

Good Morning Lovely Crafters! Sara here with you today sharing a new layout! This layout is very special. It uses both a brand new cut file from Cut To You and the January 15th inspiration from CSI Challenge Blog

IMG_5261

From the Case File I took the Color Inspiration and the book pages…so I created a mixed media background and inked up the cut file, backing it with vellum to give it a soft feel!
