25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 13

Hi CUT to YOU fans! It’s December which means all of the Design Team are having fun using some of the fab Christmas collection cut files that you can find in the store here.

Over here in the UK, the cold weather has settled in and it has started to go dark by 4pm…. winter is coming! So I had to scrap a photo of my husband and I on the one snow day we had last year! Which meant I just had to use the fab Snowflake cut file that you can find here in the store….

I decided to go large and cut the Snowflake cut file big enough to fit across the 12 x 12 background, and once it was cut I painted it with a clear, shimmery paint that adds just the right amount of sparkle! And just to finish it off I stitched through it with silver thread.

Then I picked out this pretty snowflake patterned paper from the Vicki Boutin ‘Warm Wishes’ collection to use as my background, just love the teal colour with all the white snowflakes! To add a bit more sparkle I stitched around the border a few times using silver thread.

I then mounted the Snowflake cut file onto the background using sticky foam pads to add dimension.

My photo is mounted on some white tissue paper to add some separation between that and the background. I then stuck it down just to the left of the layout

Now I normally like to use lots of embellishments but when playing around with them decided that actually the layout really didn’t need many at all as it would have just detracted from the the cut file, plus with the patterned paper background it was already pretty busy. So, opted for a couple of chipboard stickers from the ‘Warm Wishes’ collection and then the flair badge and tassel from my stash… easy peasy!

The only extra embellishments I added were the pretty holographic flat backed droplets, and I added these to the Snowflake cut file and to some of the snowflakes on the background paper.

All that was left to do was add my title and some journaling!

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 12

Hello! Hello! It’s Clair here and I am thrilled to be back as a Guest Designer for the 25 Days of Christmas event here at Cut To You!

The ‘Bauble Trio’ cut file is really versatile and the individual elements are so easy to resize for smaller format layouts, albums or mini books (and I am sure that I’ll use them for other projects) but today I’ve created a 9×12 layout with the cut file as a focal. It’s so sparkly and fun – and I just love how it turned out!

First, I found this photograph of my little cat, Banbury. Our cats are thrilled every time the Christmas decorations make an appearance and, we captured this photograph of her playing with the baubles on the tree in December 2019. There have definitely been a few cat/ornament incidents, but their joy is so infectious!

I resized the photograph to 3×4 which works well for a 9×12 layout, then I resized each of the bauble elements so that the bows are around 3 inches across. I chose to use a super sparkly glitter card to back some of the ornament details, before I backed the remainder of the ornaments with some of my Felicity Jane stash. Once the cut files were backed and decorated, I added my journalling and some gold splattering to my cardstock, before layering the baubles with my photograph onto the base. Then, I added some extra embellishments from my Felicity Jane stash – thrilled to find a few smaller baubles that work well with the cut files!

I then mounted the Snowflake cut file onto the background uPlease visit me on Instagram and let me know your favourite ornament related Christmas memories!

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 7

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new layout to share using the Christmas Joy cut file.

I was so happy to work with this cut file, I literally had the perfect photo to use! I backed the large Joy words with some pretty pattern papers. I only did the larger words to keep it cleaner.

I then added some embellishments in the empty spaces and around the cut file.

I finished by matting my photo and adding a few word strips.

Joy | Christmas Joy cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends! It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new Christmas themed scrapbook layout featuring the awesome Christmas Joy cut file. As you can tell in my layout, I didn’t not use much of the cut file on my page at all! I ended up cutting most of it up and opting for just the one word title for this layout.

Christmas Joy cut file

I firstly cut the entire cut file out from white cardstock and then decided it was a little bit big for what I wanted it for. I did want to include a few embellishments on this layout so by cutting up the cut file, it allowed me to use some if the embellishments without making the page look too busy. I backed the cut file with a gorgeous red paper, I love how this makes the cut file stand out. I also love layering things on tip if cut files, I took one of the circle die-cuts and popped it up with foam tape in the centre of the ‘O’ of Joy.

I placed my photo slightly towards the left of my page and then layered the Joy title to the right of the photo, slightly overlapping onto the photo. Above the title I placed some ephemera pieces and an enamel dot. To the right of the title I placed a flair button, a heart and a phrase sticker. Below I added the Christmas title and also a pretty fabric bow. A few more phrase stickers added here also help tell the story.

Underneath my photo, I layered a cardstock frame, added a Charm’s Creatiom arrow to the left of the photo and layered a circle die cut on top. I pooped up the Fa La La La pennants with foam tape and adhered this at the bottom of the photo. Lastly I stamped the date sta pplpmp to finish my layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it?!

HELLO NYC | CIRCLE GARLAND CUT FILE | NENASCRAP

Hi CUT TO YOU friends,

It’s NenaScrap back with you today to share a new fall layout featuring the fabulous Circle Garland Cut File.

I cut the cut file twice with my Silhouette Cameo : once in white cardstock and a second time in printed paper, keeping only the outer edges. This way I was able to back my cut file very easily by superimposing the 2 cuttings. I love the it looks !!!

I used the pretty fall collections Bungalow Lane by Paige Evans and Peaceful Heart by Jen Hadfield.
I cut a circle in the center of the Bungalow Lane #12 printed paper. I used my cut file as a template for this.

I glued a white cardstock behind my printed paper which forms with the Circle Garland cut file like a frame on the white background. I glued my cut file with 3D foam squares to add volume.

The cut file being in 2 parts, I hid the gap between the 2 with my photo on the right and my embellishment cluster on the left. This gives the effect of a wreath of leaves.

I used Bungalow Lane die-cuts and epoxy stickers as embellishments. I love the beautiful fall colors in this collection, which goes perfectly with the Circle Garland cut file and the photo of my kids during our trip to NYC in 2014.

You can find the video process of this layout on my YouTube channel :

I hope you like this layout and that it inspires you.
Thank you for stopping by.

Have a happy crafty day.

Hugs & Kisses from France.

Grateful Heart | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with a new layout using this fab Beaded Circle cut file which you can find here in the shop. I wanted to use it as a central focus and then add my clusters to the top and bottom so you can still see the pretty cut file.

I teamed the cut file up with the lovely Cocoa Vanilla Studio ‘These Days’ collection which was just perfect with my photos and the message I wanted to say.

I coloured the Beaded Circle cut file using Distress Oxides blending them in one to the other. Once I was happy I then painted over it with a super sparkly clear ink which doesn’t show up that well in the photos but it has the prettiest glittery look to it!

I added two small square photos to the top left that I had mounted onto white tissue paper which just added a soft layer between the photo and background.

Then I built up a cluster around the photos using the coordinating ephemera, puffy stickers and gold glitter hearts. I added some matching sequins from my stash to add more sparkle!

Then I created another cluster to the bottom with the matching embellishments and a title using the foam title stickers.

XOXOXO | Michelle Gallant

Hey everyone, Michelle here today with a new layout to share using the TN XOXOXO cut file and the Keeping It Real collection from Pinkfresh Studio.

Traveler’s notebook files can be used on any kind of project! They are great to create backgrounds for your 12×12 pages. I cut out the file on a colorful paper and added some stitching in the X’s.

I then added my photo, a title, and some matching embellishments throughout. The stitching took a while but otherwise this was a pretty quick layout!

Sun + Shine | Summer Vibes cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new Summer themed layout featuring the gorgeous Summer Vibes title cut file. I decided to take just the sun shape from the cut file and put the title away to use another time.

Summer Vibes cut file

I cut the design out from white cardstock and then backed it with a nice pink patterned paper. I then added craft foam underneath and adhered it to the top half of the teal scalloped patterned paper I chose for my background. I also adhered a strip of the blue patterned paper just under the sun cut file. I love the shadows the layout gets when elements are popped up with dimensional adhesive.

I placed my photo and the layers under my photo towards the right of my page and also some adhered some embellishments here too. Some embellishments I added were stickers, floral and regular die- cuts, floral transparent pieces, puffy stickers and chipboard pieces. I placed my title ‘Sun + Shine’ in the arch of the sun and also adhered a wood veneer cloud here.

To the left of my photo I placed a tag upside down so that the tie was at the bottom, I love the texture some twine brings to a layout. I also adhered the Sun Shine Sun yellow diecut here. As I added yellow here I then strategically placed a yellow embellishment in 2 other positions on my layout to create a visual triangle on my layout.

Get Your Witchy On | Halloween 2 cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends,

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing……..yes another spooky Halloween layout! I chose to cut out the Halloween 2 cut file from one of the plain patterned papers in the Crate Paper Hey Pumpkin paper pad. I then adhered the cut file using my trusty Nuvo glue on to the orange spotted paper, I love the contrast of the white against the orange. Very effective. I trimmed the orange patterned paper down slightly on one side and the top and adhered it to the black cardstock.

Halloween 2 cut file

You can see in the photo above that I didn’t adhere the web cut file down completely, how you can tell is the shadow that you can see where the cut file lifts up off the page slightly. I love dimension and shadows on a layout! Don’t you?! I decided to place my photo on the right portion of the page and placing my embellishments and title in a horizontal design across the page.

The Halloween 2 cut file was perfect to go with my photo as the photo is of me with a Halloween Snapchat filter, aren’t those web eyes cool?! I pulled out a few bits and pieces from a few different Halloween collections including some chipboard, stickers and ephemera. I wanted to keep most of the outside of the web cut file free of embellishments, choosing to only add the 31 chipboard piece at the top and some sprinkles of black mist. I also stamped the date stamp and freehand drew a black outline around the outside of the layout using a black pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout as much as I enjoyed creating it?! Check out all the Halloween cut files in the CUT to YOU store, I am certain there is something there for your next Halloween project!

Happy creating!

Tee Time | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! For my latest layout I’m using the Rock Star cut file that you can find here in the shop. I think it is a a really versatile cut file that can be used for all sorts of photos…. so it was perfect for the photo of my husband and his best mate playing golf on a weekend away, they are superstars after all!

Firstly I backed the large star on the cut file using a patterned paper from my stash, and then backed all the other stars using vellum. Both the patterned paper and vellum were raised on foam pads to add dimension.

I cut my white cardstock down to 11 1/2″ (29cm) and distressed the edges and then stuck it to a patterned paper frame. Then I placed the Rock Star cut file onto the background and once I was happy with the position I roughly marked in pencil where it sat so that I could add my mixed media in the right place! I used three different Distress Oxides inks that coordinated with the checked patterned paper and applied them using the packaging technique in the three areas that would show beneath the small stars of the cut file. Once it was dry I added splatters of the same coloured inks and once that was dry I then splattered it all over with white paint.

I also added splatters to some of the small inner stars from the cut file so that they coordinated with the smooshy background.

Once it was all dry I stuck down the backed Rock Star cut file. I then added the individual stars (after distressing the edges) curving up the points slightly and only sticking them down in the centres.

Then I added my square photo that had been mounted to another coordinating patterned paper.

I added a number of word embellishments around the photo but it didn’t need much as I wanted to showcase the cut file and mixed media background. A few Bramble Fox star Perspextives of matching colours were added in and around the cut file stars.

And of course I finished off with a title and some journaling.
