A Year to Remember | Tamara Buckler

Hello CTY peeps,

Thanks for joining me on the blog again today. I’m sharing with you a new layout featuring the ‘A Year to Remember’ cut file. I’m documenting my vaccination story with this page, and have used a cheeky little mask emoji Charm to help tell my story.

To fit the emoji on the page, I carefully cut the love heart away from the letters around it. I then backed the cut file with a single piece of patterned paper and popped the whole thing up on foam.

I adhered the cut file down the left hand side of a sheet of black cardtock. I love the contrast this gives with the bright title, really makes it pop. I then really focussed on tucking my photo and embellishments around the right edge of the cut file and page.

Once I had done all that, I added some stamping and splatters. Once this was all done, I felt like the cut file was getting a bit lost, so I added some doodling around the edges for a bit of extra something something. I really love how this came together!

Thanks again for stopping by 😊

Big loves, Tam xo

Not This Time! | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! For my latest layout I’m using the ‘Stars Squared’ cut file that can be found in the shop here. I had a cute photo of my nephew that I wanted to use so matched it up with some bright papers from the Simple Stories ‘Homegrown’ collection.

I started by flicking lots of paint splatters onto my white cardstock background making sure they were in the general shape of the cut file. Once it was dry I trimmed two sides of the white cardstock and added a red patterned paper border

Then I backed the cut file with a mix of the bright patterned papers in red, green, blue and yellow.

Before sticking down the cut file I stuck my square photo directly to the white cardstock background.

Then I attached the cut file raising it using sticky foam pads.

I decided it didn’t really need too many embellishments as didn’t want to cover up the cut file too much so just used some Bramble Fox Perspextive stars and Doodlebug Enamel stars from my stash.

I finished off with a title and some journaling.

One Big Adventure | Tamara Buckler

Hello again CTY peeps,

I’m up on the blog today sharing this fun travel themed page using the One Big Adventure title cut file. I’m documenting our little vintage caravan that we are in the process of renovating.

I started by backing the file with lots of bright patterned papers – keeping the paper the same for the word ‘BIG’ and pulling the colours from this to choose my papers for the word ‘ADVENTURE’. I was also careful here not to put papers with the same colour or pattern next to each other.

I added some gesso to my background so that the cut file popped off the page, and added foam to the back to accentuate this effect.

Once I had adhered the cut file to the page, I added my photo and some layers of patterned paper to the top left, tucking the bottom edge under the word ‘one’.

I added some cute little embellishments around the page, but didn’t go too crazy because I really just wanted to let my title shine.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, and make sure you check all the travel themed files over in the Cut to You shop.

Hello World | Airport Background Digital Cut File | Crystal Barrett

Hello CUT TO YOU friends,

I am Crystal Barrett AKA Pineapple Papers and I am so excited to be sharing my first design team project with you today! I am working with the Airport Background Digital Cut file.

Airport Travel SVG design for Cricut and Silhouette machines. Cute SVG cut file for Scrapbooking and Vinyl DIY crafts.

I chose to do 3 different techniques with the airplanes. First I painted the insides of the cut file with sliver bells Shimmerz paint.

Then I backed 3 of the airplanes with vellum.

The last 3 airplanes I handstitched with 2 strands of white embroidery floss.

I finished embellishing the layout with items from my stash. I would love for you to join me over on YouTube for the entire process video. https://youtu.be/I-v7i4Htm-A

Smile | Diamond Heart cut file | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a pretty scrapbook layout featuring the gorgeous Diamond Heart cut file

I started by choosing a dark pink patterned paper for the cut file to be cut out from. I knew I was going to place this on a plain white cardstock background so the dark pink was perfect for the contrast. I did trim down the white cardstock and matted the entire page onto a colourful background paper. I do like how this helps the cut file and the elements on the page to pop!

Diamond Heart cut file

I adhered my photo and most of the embellishments that frame the photo on the right of the page, I did keep the embellishments small on this layout so that it did not take away from the pretty cut file too much. I added my title to the bottom of the heart, I chose a teal coloured title as I love pink and teal together so much! I also added a few of the pretty hearts around my page too.

At the top of the cut file, you can see I have added a bow, I just love bows and so whenever I get the opportunity to add one, I do! I think it goes so well in the middle of the top of the heart. I also added some chipboard and puffy sticker floral pieces around the perimeter of the diamond heart cut file. Lastly I stamped the date stamp on a small tag and my layout was complete.

Thank you so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today. Sadly this is my final layout as part of the awesome CUT to YOU design team for a little while. I would love to thank Gwen and all you amazing readers and crafters for all of your amazing support!

Happy creating!

Sweet Heart | Tamara Buckler

Hello again CTY peeps,

I’m up on the blog today sharing a little bit of bright, sunshiney, love! I have used the Hearts in a Jar Cut File to document a sweet photo of my daughter and I.

I loved the idea of making the hearts in the jar look like the ‘conversation heart’ lollies we use to get as kids. They were always so sweet and pretty, with such lovely rainbow colours, so I backed each of the hearts individually with pretty pastel papers to get this effect.

I then decided to back the jar using a white glassine bag to provide some separation from my bright background and give the effect of cloudy glass. I would have preferred to use vellum for this step, but didn’t have any in my stash. I also backed the lid and base of the jar in black for an added pop, and tucked foam tape in behind all the solid elements.

I have slightly tucked the Cut file in under my photo cluster, and added the title over the top. This ties all these elements together, and makes them the focal point of the page. I had added some other sweet embellishments around the Cut File, and down to the right of my title for balance and to tie all my pretty colours together.

Thanks again for stopping by today. Make sure you’ve popped into the shop this month and checked out all the new releases for some fun news creative inspiration.

Merry and Bright | Tamara Buckler

Hello and Happy New Year CTY friends!!

I’m so happy to be back with you again this year! Hope you are all well and have had a lovely festive season! Today I am up sharing a Christmas layout I created while we had a little down time, and I’m using the Merry and Bright cut file and some older Christmas pics of my girls.

I think I have mentioned before that I am Christmas scrapping convert, and one of the ways I have made this work for me is to use non-conventional colour stories on my Christmas pages. For this page I have gone with green, black and white, and I love how this works!

I have used the Merry and Bright cut file as my title, which I had cut out from white cardstock, and have coloured it using a black Posca pen. This is such an easy way to alter your cut files, and in this instance I feel it made the file stand out a lot better on my page.

I have used a black Charms Creation star over the top of the star in the file, and I love how this gives the title a bit more dimension, which can sometimes be tricky with really fine files like this one.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Make sure you stop by and check out the Christmas Shop for lots more cut files to document all your Christmas memories!

Take care out there.

Dear Santa | Gift Wrapped cut file | Tarrah McLean

Happy New Year creative friends!!

It’s Tarrah back with you and today I am sharing a new Christmas themed layout featuring the pretty Gift Wrapped cut file.

Gift Wrapped cut file

I cut out the cut file as large as I could from a red patterned paper from the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks collection, I then backed parts of the ribbon with a plaid patterned paper from the 6′ x 8′ paper pad. I then adhered the cut file to a plain white cardstock background using regular adhesive, placing it a bit straighter than the example in the cut file image.

I placed my photo using craft foam, and the layers underneath, towards the top right of my page so I didn’t cover up the cut file design too much. I tucked in some tag die-cuts at the bottom of the photo and some more die-cuts, chipboard and stickers around the photo. I opted for some gold puffy title stickers for my title, these were perfect to add as a title as they didn’t cover up too much of the cut file either. I also placed a flair button here. Lastly I stamped the date stamp and sprinkled some black mist.

I love how this layout looks like a gift you can open up with the pretty bow and ribbon! I really enjoyed creating this layout and I hope you enjoyed reading how I created it?!

Merry Everything | Tarrah McLean

Hi creative friends and Merry Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful few days celebrating!

It’s Tarrah back with you to share a new Christmas layout featuring the awesome Merry Everything title cut file.

Merry Everything cut file

I started by cutting the Merry Everything cut file design out of white cardstock and then backed it with different papers from the Kringle & Co collection by Photoplay Paper. Once it was all backed I adhered the cut file with foam tape to the left of a patterned paper background also from the Kringle & Co collection. I then trimmed this paper down and matted the entire layout on the red plaid paper.

I adhered my photo to the right of the cut file with a small plaid paper layered under the photo. I added a gorgeous red and black heart from Charm’s Creations to the left of the photo and also added a flair from Just Add Flair to the centre of the ‘R’ in Every.

I kept the embellishing fairly simple, adding just a few stickers and die-cuts here and there. I like to add embellishments to the top of my cut files, I like how this helps to draw your eye to the cut file. Lastly I stamped the date stamp.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you all had a lovely time celebrating Christmas.

25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 24

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Happy Christmas Eve! We are almost at the end of our festive scrapbooking ideas, I hope you have found plenty to inspire you and taken advantage of the fab discount offer on each of the cut files that have been used over the 25 days of Christmas (last festive idea is up tomorrow!). All of the fab Christmas collection cut files can be found in the store here.

This time I decided to use the December Stack cut file and use it as a large background layer, white on white.

I didn’t want to stick it fully down as wanted the edges to still lift as I do like dimension on my layouts. So I machine stitched through each of the December words a few times with gold thread. Then I added gold splatters down through the centre of the layout.

I created a central photo block with two small photos mounted on white tissue paper and patterned papers from the Simple Stories Holly Days collection.

Then I went to town and used lots of coordinating chipboard stickers, die cuts and puffy stickers around my photos!

Below the photos I added a title using a Bramble Fox ‘remember December’ Perspextive and then a cascade of word stickers instead of journaling…

To finish off I added lots of sparkly gold star sequins around the embellishment clusters and word stickers.

Love the project and want to make one of your very own? Pop by the store and use the code CHRISTMASFAVS at checkout to get this design at 80% off. No additional purchase necessary.
