Together | Tamara Buckler

Hello lovely CTY friends,

I hope you’ve had so much fun joining in with our 2nd Birthday celebrations this month! There has some amazing inspiration going around, and heaps of beautiful entries coming in for our challenges! I’m up on the blog today sharing my layout inspired by the moodboard challenge.

I quickly discovered I didn’t have any hot pink patterned paper in my stash, and this was my main inspiration from the mood board. I decided I needed to make my own, so I pulled out all the pink mixed media elements that I had, and set about making a background. I have also added in lots of black marks, to tie back to the black in the inspiration images.

I then used the new TN Circles Sliced Cut File, cutting it in black cardstock and mounting on foam tape.

For some reason, my mixed media is photographing as very orange, but I promise it’s hot pink! To tie this in with the Circles Sliced Cut File, I cut the background I had created into circles, and cascaded these down the page, before laying my Cut File over them.

I like to think of different ways to use our Cut Files, and including them in backgrounds like this or included with mixed media elements in a grungy sort of way is a little different from the norm.

To finish off my page, I added in my title, some embellishments, and some word strips. I also added some black ink splatters and black doodling to further add to the grungy feel of my page.

Thanks for stopping by today, can’t wait to share with you again next month!!

Big Loves, Tam xx

Hello, hello everyone and welcome to the blog today!! Melinda here to share my second creation with you for this oh so fun birthday month!!

Yep, that is back to school 2020! I tend to scrap as I feel inspired rather than chronologically. I have used the Back To School cut file released earlier this year which I really, really love and have had cut for ages!

This month was the PERFECT time to use this cut file and play along with the Two-Riffic Birthday challenge happening right now over in the HQ Facebook group! Head over here for the challenge album and have fun creating!

I have a process video for you which you can see below, just click that button, sit back and enjoy!

And here are a few close up details!

Delightful Roses | Tarrah McLean

Hi everyone and happy 2nd birthday CUT to YOU!!!

It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout inspired by the gorgeous July Mood Board challenge. I was inspired by the pink (of course) and the gorgeous roses/petals in the top section. I have used the stunning new Fern Posey cut file on my page today!

The gorgeous Fern Posey cut file

The photo I am documenting is of a gorgeous rose from my Mum’s garden with a super cute grasshopper on top! Perfect photo for the mood board (mood board inspiration picture is below)

In the close up photo below you can see the photo with the rose and grasshopper on my layout. I cut the Fern Posey cut file from white cardstock and then chose a pretty pink paper to back all the floral parts. I left the greenery parts plain without any paper behind them.

Once I had finished backing the flowers, I put craft foam underneath and arranged it on my chosen background paper how I liked it, I slightly rotated it from the original cut file design photo.

I tucked in my photo over on the right hand side of the page and added a few embellishments here also. I even added a set of books to the right of my photo just like the books in the mood board! My title is Delightful Roses, made up of a small sticker and some pink alphabet stickers. I added the title under the photo and also added one of the gorgeous layered butterflies near the title.

The good part about raising a cut file up from the background is that it then gives you cute places to tuck embellishments in and around. Some of the flower die-cuts and stickers fit perfectly by doing this.

Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today. I hope you have a chance to join in with our mood board challenge for July. By joining in, you go into a random draw to win free cut files!

Happy creating!

CUT to YOU is turning TWO!

Hey there Creative friends! Today I am so excited to be kicking off our 2nd Birthday celebrations. Yep, CUT to YOU is turning two and we have so so many wonderful things planned for you to celebrate! The first I need to tell you about is our month-long YouTube HOP!

I am so excited to share with you that these AHHH-Mazing creatives will all be joining me throughout July on YouTube to share their creations using CUT to YOU cut files and if the sneak peeks I’ve seen are anything to go by you are all in for such a treat! You’ll not only want to join them to see their projects but they all might just have a special discount code for all orders placed in July for you as well, so be sure to be on the lookout for that!

What a superstar line up ^^^ including Missy Whidden, Raquel Bowman, Lauren Hender, Amanda Jane aka Happy Arty Days, Vicki Parker and Sue Plumb along with the girls from our regular DT all sharing this month… and me, I’ll be sharing on YouTube as well! xo

Here are the details of the hop so you know who’s channel to visit on which day:

I also want to tell you about our two challenges running this month.

The first is an Inspiration Board… Simply create a layout featuring CUT to YOU Cut files that is inspired by the Mood board for your chance to win a prize pack! I’ll draw a winner at random so everyone has a chance to win 🙂 Entries close 10th August 2020 and need to be uploaded into the album in the CUT to YOU HQ Facebook group.

The second is challenge is to let our 2nd Birthday inspire you! You could use 2 photos on your layout or 2 cut files. You could create a double 12×12 layout or scrapbook a birthday celebration, maybe create a page celebrating a very special couple… All you need to do is ensure you include at least one CUT to YOU cut file on your project and then upload to the album in the Facebook group before 10th August 2020 and share with us what inspired you! The winner of this challenge will be voted on by the Design Team! 🙂

I also want to take this moment to thank you all for being part of the CUT to YOU community, I still can’t believe that I am lucky enough to do this as my job and that something that started as simply as me creating cut file designs for myself would grow into the wonderful community and business I have today. All of this would never have come to be without so many of you. I am so very thankful for you all and I still pinch myself whenever I see your stunning projects shared and the encouraging community we have online. Your love of CUT to YOU really means the world!

So, here’s to 2 years of CUT to YOU cut files, and I look forward to what the next few years bring, now let’s get this Hop kicked off!
