25 Days of Christmas | Fast, Fun and Festive Scrapbook Ideas | Day 2

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with a Christmas inspiration for you. Can’t believe it’s already December! We have some special celebrations for you, spoiling you with some sale and beautiful inspirations. It’s worth to read the blog each day 😉

For my Christmas layout I used the Quilt Grid One Background Cut File. Backing this cut file was like sewing a quilt blanket, took some time, but it looks awesome! 😀

First I cut the Quilt Grid One Background cut file from white cardstock. Then I started to back the little triangles with some patterned papers. I wanted to mix and match all the beautiful colours and patternes to create a background with a cosy, Christmassy athmosphere, so I used the Winter Cottage collection of Simple Stories from last year.

In order to get a balanced look, I followed the rules of patchworking: I made small sections, and repeated them, sometimes I changed the order, but the lighter colours were always in the middle.

When I was ready with the background, I glued my photo behind a frame, and started to arrange my layout. (If I started this layout again, I would choose a bigger portrait, because the busy background makes it hard to recognize the small faces in the photo.)

This photo was taken 3 years ago, when we celebrated one of my friends bridal shower in the Vintage Garden restaurant in Budapest, which had a beautiful photo shooting section – we just couldn’t help to make some photos there 🙂

Then I started to embellish the layout. I found a sticker which was perfect as a title – I glued it on a smooth white cardstock to make it sturdy. I cut some pine tree branches ad poinsettia flowers with my Sizzix to decorate the layout.

Autumn Walks | Kirei Baldwin

Hi CUT to YOU fans! Kirei here with my latest layout using the new Autumn Acorns cut file which you can find here in the shop. It is just perfect for my photo of us out on our regular walks around our local area during Autumn, love the trees changing colour!

I cut the Autumn Acorn cut file quite large as I wanted to make it a feature on my layout.

I backed all of of the cut file with patterned paper raised on sticky foam pads. But then wanted to really emphasise the acorns so filled the inner with lots of tiny gold star sequins and gold flat backed pearls. Love the sparkle it adds!

For my background I trimmed down a sheet of white cardstock, distressed the edges and stuck to a dark green patterned paper frame. Then I added a few stitches around each edge.

I sprayed a fine rose gold mist over the background so that it wasn’t too white on white.

From here it was pretty quick…. mounted my photo on a couple of coordinating patterned papers then stuck down with a couple of tags popping out of the top.

I added just a few leaf embellishments from Paige Evans Bungalow Lane collection, it didn’t really need much more as the cut file was like one large embellishment!

Then I finished off with my title and journaling.

CUT to YOU | Hello Autumn | Skeleton Leaf Duo Digital Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. If you are signed up to the CUT to YOU Newsletter, you have got the Skeleton Leaf Duo cut file for free. If you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? 😉

I’d like to show you how I have used this Freebie cut file. I really love to create fall layouts, and this Skeleton Leaf Duo cut file was perfect to make many colourful leaves.

First I traced 9x the Skeleton Leaf Duo cut file on a 12×12″ white cardstock. After cutting it, I left them on the cutting mat and started to colour them with some Catherine Pooler ink pads. I used the colours: Limoncello, Lemongrass, Sauna, Catching Rays, Orange Peel, Mandarin Spice, Rouge, Sage, Eucalyptus, Green Tea.

I mixed the colours, trying to copy real leaves.

When I was ready with the 18 leaves, I got them off the cutting mat, and arranged them on a white cardstock. I wanted to make a circle background for my photo. I really love how the paper leaves match the colourful leaves on the photo.

I put the green leaves around my photo, and the others in the next row of the circle. Then I started to embellish my layout using many stickers from the Late Afternoon collection of Amy Tangerine.

I also added some chipboards of ScrapUp Scrapbook, I think they match these cut files and the autumnal colour sheme perfectly.

Finally I added the title and some more embellishments to finish up my page.

I hope you liked my inspiration. If you didn’t get this cut file in the Newsletter, you can also buy it in the CUT to YOU shop here. Check out the other fall cut files in the Autumn and Fall section.

CUT to YOU | Pecs | Oak Leaf Background Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. The end of October means having an autumn break and enjoying the beautiful colours of this season. I really love scrapbooking fall memories, I like to represent all the yellows, reds, greens and browns of fall. The Oak Leaf Background cut file is perfect for showcasing these.

For this layout I cut the Oak Leaf Background cut file from white cardstock. One of my favourite autumn collections is the Auburn Lane of Pink Paislee, so I started to back the oak leaves with some colourful patterned papers of this collection. The light shades of peach, soft pink, the yellow and the dark green colours and especially the copper foil details make this collection and my leaves just more cosy and autumnal.

I backed each leaf with a different colour and pattern, taking care of the balance of the dark and light colours.

Then I matted my photo with the same patterned papers. This photo was taken at the end of November 2 years ago, when we were having a weekend out, enjoying the good weather and the sights (here: the cathedral) in one the most beautiful towns of Hungary, and also the concert of our favourite band.

I placed my photo on the bottom right corner and started to decorate the layout. I created some clusters using some die cuts, stickers, puffy stickers and flowers.

Finally I added the title, my journalling and some sticker, puffy, rub-on or enamel hearts. I really like the result. What about you?

You can find the Oak Leaf Background cut file and other beautiful fall cut files among the November 2021 release of CUT to YOU. Get on to the shop and grab some awesome designs and get creative!

CUT to YOU | Wowza! | Jack o’lantern Digital Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest post for CUT to YOU. Halloween ist just right around the corner, and although it is not a traditional celebration in Hungary, we do carve pumpkins as a decoration. Since my daughter is big enough, she likes to help. These photos were taken 2 years ago, and she was very proud of her self-designed pumpkin 🙂

For my layout I used the Jack o’lantern digital cut file of CUT to YOU.

I’ve been really inspired by Belinda Jane’s post from September, where she describes in a video how to make a stitching file from a regular cut file. I decided to try this with the Jack o’lantern cut file. I let my Silhouette Cameo cut the stitching holes and hand-stitched the cut file. It took some hours, but I really like the look of it. The distance of the holes is not always the same, but if needed I could make a hole with my needle.

When I was ready with the stitching, I matted my photos with some patterned papers from the Hey Pumpkin collection of Crate Paper. I also added a border from a patterned paper of this collection. I placed my photos diagonally, and watercoloured the background of the photos with some Catherine Pooler ink pads (colours: Catching Rays, Orange Peel).

I added some chipboard pieces from the Hey Pumpkin collection, but found that my layout needs some more decorations. I had an older clear stamp set of Lawn Fawn in my stash, so I decided to make some pumpkins. I stamped the images of the Pick of the Patch stamp set on a smooth cardstock with the Midnight Premium Archival Ink of Catherine Pooler, and coloured them with a watercolor brush pen using some Catherine Pooler ink pads (colours: Catching Rays, Orange Peel, Mandarin Spice and Sage).

I also stamped some phrases from the Pick of the Patch stamp set of Lawn Fawn, and added some multicoloured leaves from the same stamp set as the last touch.

Would you try to stitch a cut file instead of backing it? Wether or not, you should head on to the CUT to YOU shop and grab some Halloween cut files, if you have not yet 😉

CUT to YOU | Sweet Treats | Sweet Treats Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. Among the cut files of the September 2021 Release there are many Halloween themed items, for example the Sweet Treat cut file, which I chose for my post. It is a very versatile cut file, I used it now for documenting our visit to the Sweet Days Budapest 2018. It is a festival full of sweets and chocolates, we ate and bought a lots of them and this was the first time we tried cake pop and churros! My daughter loves sweets, I am rather a salty person, but I wouldn’t say no to a good chocolate 😉

First I cut the Sweet Treats cut file from white textured cardstock. As my photos have vivid colours, I chose the Happiness collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio to back the cut file. I also backed the candy cut files.

Then I started to paint my background. I used some Catherine Pooler ink pads in colour Limoncello, Pucker Up and Cummerbund.

When I was ready with the background I matted my photos. I used the same patterned papers as by backing the cut files.

After arranging everything on the background paper I added some clear stickers to the layout – these faux watercolour stickers give more colours to the layout. I added them to the left corner of my photo, and to the candys on the right, and the photo next to the title.

Finally I added my journalling and some phrase stickers.

What would you use this cut file for? Show it in our Facebook group and tag CUT to YOU to help us to find your post!

Now head on to the CUT to YOU shop and grab some of the awesome Halloween cut files! 😉

Do all things with love | Tamara Buckler

Hello wonderful CTY friends!

I’m up on the blog again today to share my latest layout for CTY. To create my page I have used our Book Stack Cut File to scrap an older school photo of my girls.

I am playing along with this months CSI Challenges and have drawn from Case File #368 for inspiration for my page. I was inspired by the ‘school vibes’ of the case file, and also chose to draw on the pastel colours for inspiration.

I cut the file from white card stock and used a variety of patterned papers to back the spine and covers of the books. I then used some notebook paper to back the ‘pages’ of books, and I love that this gives the file a different texture, much like you see with real books. I added foam tape behind the patterned papers to pop the file up from the page.

I have focussed the design of my page on the bottom half of my layout, laying my photo over the edge of the cut file, and clustering and tucking embellishments around these two elements. I really feel like this keeps the focus on the story of the page, even without adding any journaling.

I really love how this came together, and as always am grateful that I get to play with these amazing Cut Files to tell our stories. Gwen has released some amazing bundle deals over in the shop, so if you have back to school photos to scrap, make sure you check them out.

Until next time, Big Loves,

Tam xo

CUT to YOU | Happy | Ferris Wheel Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. When I first saw the Ferris Wheel digital cut file, this photo came in my mind. Unfortunately the amusement park in Budapest has been closed, but you can ride some of the old machines in the City Park. This mini ferris wheel is also there, so tiny but still fun.

First I cut the Ferris Wheel cut file from white cardstock. As the mini wheel on my photo is coloured blue, I decided to back the Ferris Wheel cut file with blue tones. I used the Sunkissed collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio. I chose the tiny floral paper and the leopard patterned paper from the 6″x8″ paper stack and the Bright Side paper from the 12″ paper pad.

I chose the Just Chillin’ patterned paper for my background. I matted my photo with the same patterned papers and glued the cut file on the background paper. I placed my photo on right bottom side of the cut file.

Then I started to embellish the layout. I added a phrase sticker and some puffy stickers from the Sunkissed collection, and a title cut out from the Midnight collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

I really like how this monochromatic layout has turned out. Have you already used this cut file? If yes, show us in the CUT to YOU HQ Facebook group!
And now had onto the CUT to YOU shop, and grab some new cut files to work with! 😉

**CUT to YOU friends from Europe, visit the CUT to YOU Etsy store to buy the cut files. You’ll find the Ferris Wheel cut file here.**

CUT to YOU | Our Little Sweetheart | Rose Garden Frame cut file | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. When I first saw the Rose Garden Frame cut file, I knew I want to make a layout with it! You know I love flowers and couldn’t wait to back it and make a layout with it. My perfect photo for this cut file was made in July, when we went on a holiday with the family for some days. Blanka’s hair was made by her brother’s girlfriend and she looked such a big girl with that messy bun! And of course sooo very beautiful too, that I had to make some portraits of her! 😉

First I cut the Rose Garden Frame cut file from white cardstock. As the colours of the Sunkissed collection of Cocoa Vanilla Studio matches totally the dress on the photo, I began to back the flowers in the cut file with matching colours from the 6×8 paper pad.

When I was ready I’ve been looking for a matching background paper, and thought that rainbow paper (called Bright Side) would look great with the rainbow coloured cut file.

I glued my photo to the cut file and placed the cut file on the background paper. Then I wanted to add more flowers to the layout, so I fussy cut some flowers from the Growing Wild patterned paper.

Finally I added my title – I chose some die cut titles from the Daydream collection: Our Little SweetHeart. I glued them on the rainbow, added my journalling and was ready.

I hope I could inspire you to use this beautiful cut file! You can find the Rose Garden Frame cut file and many beautiful cut files among the new release. So head on to the CUT to YOU shop and wishing you many crafty days! 😉

CUT to YOU | Vacay Mode | Vacay Mode Cut File | Piroska Czako-Radvanyi

Hello Everyone, it’s Piroska here today with my latest layout for CUT to YOU. It’s hot summer here in Hungary, best time to scrap summer photos. I chose a photo from last summer, when we spent most of the time at Lake Balaton and had much fun on the inflatable flamingo float. I have won it on Instagram and couldn’t wait to try it! We all loved it, it was big enough for an adult too, so we brought it each day to the beach.

First I cut the Vacay Mode cut file from white precision cardstock. I wanted to make a bright and colorful layout, so I backed the cut file with different patterned papers of the Sunkissed collection of Simple Stories.

Then I started to make the background, I used some Catherine Pooler ink pads (colours: Hot Tub, Pink Champagne, Limoncello) and created a watercoloured backround.

I matted my photos and cut out two tags from the tag paper of the Sunkissed collection of Simple Stories. I glued the cut file with foam adhesive on the watercoloured background, and arraneged the photos and the two tags.

I started to embellish my layout with stickers, foam sickers, cut outs and phrase stickers.

I also added some brads, hearts and sequins to decorate the layout.

Finally, I added my journalling. I really how much summer-feeling this layout has! I am sure, I won’t put it away in an album soon, but leave it on a shelf to enjoy and remember this great memory!

Have you already started to document your summer memories? You can find many great cut files in the CUT to YOU shop, just have a look at the Summer Time Fun section. Grab some new cut files too, and happy crafting!
