Let Your Dreams be Your Wings| Kelly Pyron

Happy Spring! This is my favorite season, mostly because of all the new flowers and the earth is coming alive once again! I created this layout of my oldest daughter in celebration of the new season! I used the Daisy Bough cut file as starting point.

I really wanted the cut file to take center stage for my embellishments. I wanted to back the cut file, but I didn’t want to add any busy-ness to the background, so I decided to use vellum. Only, I realized I had run completely out of vellum. Not one to give up easily on an idea, I decided to I improvise! I had several large glassine bags, which I cut apart and used to back the cut file. I love that you can get a peek of the beautiful paper underneath but the cut file still takes center stage. Next , I lined the cut file with sticklers to really make the cut file pop.

I fussy cut elements from the Asuka collection and layered them around the photo and cut file. Lastly, I added some diamond sequins around as a finishing touch.

This was such a fun layout to create! I hope you enjoy it and find a little inspiration! Be sure to check out all the new cut-files in the shop!

Hello friends! I have a new layout to share today featuring my gorgeous daughter, Andrea and the beautiful Simply Floral Pendent cut file.

I had cut the file on textured, white cardstock and backed it with some fun patterned papers from Maggie Holmes Wonder and Magical Forest collections. I then added a layer of Diamond Stickles over the cut file to add some sparkle and bling.

I knew I wanted the photo to take center stage and that I wanted a cascading, diagonal design, so I altered the original cut file to fit my design. I snipped the cut-file in half and adhered one half to the top left and the other to the bottom right. I adhered the cut-file flat to the background and popped my photo on foam tape to give it prominence on the page.

I didn’t really need to add much embellishment to the layout to complete it. The different patterns and textures backing the cut-file really stand out on this page, and adding too much more would have been too busy and overwhelming. Therefore, I added the title, a few puffy hearts and the butterflies to finish the design. I love how this turned out and that I was able to use the cut-file to fit my needs. That’s one of my favorite things about using Gwen’s cut-file, they are so versatile!

I have a process video if you would like to see this layout come together. Have a great and creative day!
