Hey and hello CUT to YOU family, Karen here with you and I am so excited to join this amazing team this month. I would like to give Gwen a huge THANK YOU for inviting me to part of your world here at Cut To You. I have been such a fan and still pinch myself that I am here.
Did you know that Cut To You sponsors the CSI challenge every month? I am going to work on solving cases each and every month. I hope you will play along with me!
So onto my (gulp!) first creation for Cut To You using the gorgeous Floral Ampersand file which you can find here in the shop
I was completely inspired by the tropical feel in CSI CASE File No.363. You can get more details on the evidence you need here .
I kicked things off by backing the flowers and leaves with patterned paper and left the main component clear from backing and created a mixed media background that would peak through the cut file.
You can see how I created this one here –
Thanks so much for stopping by today, I hope you can join in on the fun challenges at CSI this month, make sure you share and tag #CuttoYou! we love to see your creations.
It’s Tarrah back with you today to share a new layout with you for our floral theme for this week! I chose the stunning Floral Ampersand design to create this layout. I cut the design out from white cardstock and backed the pieces behind in different patterned papers from the Truly Grateful collection by Paige Evans.
This cut file is so versatile for all kinds of projects. It would also look great cut out small and not backed!
I was strategic when I backed the cut file, making sure that the large flower and the leaves could stand out. I did this by using a bright pink for the flowers and a dark green on the leaves. Once the cut file was all backed, I added craft foam underneath and adhered the cut file to the centre of another piece of white cardstock. I love the shadows and dimension this adds to my page.
I placed my photo over on the right side of the Floral Ampersand cut file design and tucked a tag behind the photo. I also overlapped a die-cut ampersand piece onto the photo on the left. This was the perfect piece to add as it was so florally and fit next to my photo perfectly.
By adding craft foam underneath the cut file design and popping it up off the page I was able to tuck lots of die-cut flowers to further enhance the floral design and theme of my page. I didn’t add too much else to the top of the cut file design as it was quite busy already, I decided to place the foam alphabet either side of the design so that it could be included in the title. Lastly I added some more die-cut pieces and phrase stickers and also added some journaling following the shape of the bottom half of the Ampersand shape.
Thanks so much for stopping by the CUT to YOU blog today! I hope you enjoyed my layout today and that you were inspired in some way. Be sure to check out the CUT to YOU store for amazing cut file designs!
