Hi Friends! Today, I am creating with the gorgeous Geo Floral Leaves Cut File combined with some of the amazing new foils from SpiegelMom Scraps that we are creating with this month. I am absolutely in love with how easy these foils are to use with cut files and this floral one is perfect for a layout about my sister’s bridal shower!
I started off with a white cardstock background and added some inking around the edges of the paper. I then chose a bunch of different coordinating 6×8 pattered papers that I wanted to use to create an oversized photo mat. I did just a touch of mixed media by adding some stamping as well as some splatters on my background.
I then went ahead and added some lace trim under my photo that could serve as a little shelf for my title die cut word. Then, it was finally time to add my gorgeous foiled cut files. I cut them in a couple of different sizes so that I could tuck them in to different areas AND so that I could maximize my foil usage. For the largest leaf, I thought that it would be fun to cut it in both white and metallic so that I could glue them together slightly offset in order to create a layered, dimensional look…almost like a shadow!
I hope that you enjoyed my version of the geo floral cut files paired up with the gorgeous Fab foils. I really think that they created a fun look with a little more glamorous feel to match my photo!
Hello scrappy friends and welcome to the CUT to YOU blog today. Melinda here with you today sharing another scrapbook layout I created using 2 cut files!
The first file I used is clearly very obvious, this gorgeous title “Love this Moment” which I have cut on smooth white card stock.
The second cut file, which is a little less obvious, is the fun “Book Stack Background” cut file which is part of my back ground design. To get this one onto my page I have used my foil quill in my Silhouette Cameo with some pink foil and oh boy, I love this so, so much!
With my main element already on my background I got straight into the messy stuff!! I have added lots of blues using mostly Distress Oxide Ink pads and the packaging technique. My white back ground has not had any treatment at all. With the design in the back ground being foiled it didn’t smudge or get covered over when I added all of the colour which is one of the reasons I chose to foil it!
My title was going to be pretty prominent on my page so wanted to make a feature of this also. This took a bit more effort and quiet a few coats of paint, water colours and gesso but I got there in the end lol I was trying to make as close a match to the flowers in the back ground of my photo as I could! Happy in the end!
I backed the word “this” and the hearts in the cut file with an ombre blue paper from the Cocoa Vanilla Midnight collection. The hearts looked super dark so I added some white gesso and then some darker blue paint to add sparkle and some difference in colour.
Upon going through my stash after my cut file was done I chose to work with the Cocoa Vanilla Studio “Wild at Heart” collection. I used some paper scraps for layers behind my photo, some ephemera pieces and a few stickers.
I’ve also tucked in 3 fussy cut butterflies around my page – one big one to the left of my title and then 2 smaller ones. These were added to both above and below the photo.
With my page almost complete I felt like it needed something around the edges but I wanted to do something different. I ended up tearing a small section into each side of the card stock background and then mounted my whole page onto another pattern paper from the same CVS collection. Finishing off by adding in a few staples to the torn and rolled sections of card stock.
My final touch was my journalling which I have added in grey pen right to the book below my title so it’s “in” the book! A very subtle detail but I think it’s a bit fun 😉 And, I have a process video for you below, just hit play and I hope you enjoy!
I really, really love how this page came together. That cut file foiled in the back ground is so so fun and something a little different! You could use this effect with SO many of the cut files available in the store! My first stop to explore will be the “Backgrounds” section – how fun!!
I hope you enjoyed my share today and it has sparked some creativity for you! Until next time, happy scrapping!! Melinda
Hello everyone and thanks so much for stopping by the blog today to check out my latest creation!
As you can see I have used the super fun “Diamonds” cut file which you can find in the store over here!
Better yet, it’s FOILED!!! I cut this file on smooth white card stock as I knew that would give the best results when I ran it through the Minc. While the cut file was still on the sticky mat I used my Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Mist and a silicone spatula to apply a smooth-ish, even coat over the whole thing. After it was completely dry I ran it through my Minc using some HOLOGRAPHIC foil!! Love, love, love!!
I chose the collections I wanted to create with before I chose my photo. My back ground paper came from Bloom Street by Paige Evans. Then I used mostly Sparkle City by Shimelle for embellishments and to back most of the diamonds. The white paper with the rainbow raindrops came from the Bloom Street collection.
With the cut file backed and my back ground paper chosen it really was time to decide what I was going to scrapbook lol I ended up with a photo of my BIG Disney Castle LEGO set on it’s shelf in my craft room printed at about 3″x4″. And then the title. Simple and to the point! I really didn’t want to cover up too much of that fun cut file!!
With my photo and title selected and placed I added a few small embellishments. There is a rub-on, a journalling die cut and some stickers from the Sparkle City collection. My journalling was added with a grey pen and a few small silver splatters.
I really love how this page came together and am so happy that I was able to have so much of that fun, foiled cut file on display! I do have a process video for you below and I hope you enjoy!
You can find this cut file here in the store and a tonne of other back ground cut files here in the store. And, of course, the newest release (so fun!!) can be found here! Happy shopping! Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you again next month with my next share!
